Have you seen Barnes record in March? He's historically one of the worst and most overrated tournament coaches in MBB

Rick Barnes will be 71 this year. He will not be there that much longer.

Why do you think he’s coaching at Mcneese State right now?

Bruce Pearl did the same at Auburn, in fact it was likely on Pearl's advice WW chose that path, as Pearl did his no talkie to boss man before WW.

A) Tennessee cares too much about basketball to hand their program over to a clown; and

B) kicking LSU’s arse in basketball yearly isn’t much of an accomplishment.

Said “clown” has made the post season the last 7 seasons and only one of those was the NIT.

How many times are we gonna do this thread? I guess we must be trying to wish it into existence.

Hard to blame anybody. SEC is currently dominating college basketball more than the football teams. And in the meantime, LSU is at the very bottom of the league after overpaying this current clown. Another Woodward powerball retirement deal but this one blew up in his face big time.

To some degree I think you are right. The hope is that enough BASKETBALL fans, not the chime-in's who barely know LSU has a team, will demand the hire be attempted (no one can force either side to accept it). That's because if you are an LSU basketball fan you want him back coaching the team. The only ones who don't are those opposing it SOLELY for the sake of being contrarians. That's it. There is no logical reason otherwise.

Take the name off the resume. If LSU was in the market for a new HC and someone with this resume was a possibility LSU fans, even the chime-in's here, would be excited.

11 years as HC at four different schools
Never had a losing season
Nearly .700 career winning percentage (currently .694)
Finished in the top 3 of his conference (soon to be) 9 of 11 years.
6 NCAA Tournament appearances, with a 7th likely (would be 8 but for the 2020 cancellation)
Tied NCAA record for largest single season turnaround in history (+19 wins)

One of the biggest "brands" in the sport, Kentucky, had to settle for a HC with a FAR lesser resume.

the way our AD throws around huge money, WW could never demand the same anywhere else. Our AD will give him anything he wants and more.
