I'd imagine they will wait until this week to see if LSU gets an NIT bid for the season to officially be over. They have the highest NET of all the non NCAA Tourney teams outside of Auburn and Oklahoma. I doubt Auburn will take a bid.

Football is the straw that stirs the drink.
There was consensus among the big donors that it was Kiffin or bust.
There was resolve.
There was the will.
There was the money.
There was interest.
There was the appetite.
There was urgency after Kelly's firing.

Do you see any urgency among the PTB?
Can Rousse twist enough arms and shake enough money trees?
Can we give Wade a new arena?

Now many there is the will and appetite for another buyout/big contract.
Maybe there are enough big money folks who care enough about basketball.
There better be because Wade's gratitude and mutual goodwill with Rousse may not be enough to close the deal. The expectations will be unreal and it may be tougher to deliver given the equal footing NIL provides to our competitors and the overall depth of the conference.
Wade is a big gamble for LSU and LSU is a big gamble for Wade.

We'll know in a couple of weeks when NC State is ousted from the tourney.

You are literally too stupid to insult. I never said I know what’s been decided. I can see that there has been no announcement, and there is a lot of smoke that Wade is the target (in fact may be the only person they would fire MM for this year). It’s no coincidence that no decision has been announced on McMahon and Wade’s season is still going.

It really isn’t that hard to follow. If they were firing McMahon no matter, that decision would have been weeks ago and we would have known on Thursday, so we can begin a search. If he was definitely staying, we’d known that by now as well. So we’re somewhere in the middle, which seems to mean we’re only firing him if we know we can land our top target. Given the school leadership, we know who that target is.

This really isn’t rocket science.
