Under the old rules when only the top 8 teams were seeded, you couldn't match up 2 regional hosts from the same conference in a potential Super. That's obviously been thrown out the window now.

It's just like softball now with the 1-16 rankings. You will get this more going forward with potential conference match ups in Supers.

Yeah, it's been happening in softball for a while. With the entire SEC getting bids, it almost had to. I just have to adjust to it in baseball as well.

Some of the ULL fans were insistent at the time that a midweek game against them was our CWS. Whatever makes them feel better

Anytime their school is mentioned along with LSU in ANY regard, its their CWS.

The State of Louisiana only needs LSU, Tulane, La. Tech. Southern and Grambling as 4 year schools.

I bet I'm not the only one who briefly stopped breathing when they saw Stony Brook in the lsu regional. Obviously not the same thumpers but I doubt people will overlook them based on the "who? Factor".

Fun piece of trivia: Elijah Cabell (the guy who was committed to LSU purely to raise his draft stock and then was... not forthcoming, with the LSU coaches during the draft process) set the school record this year for FSU for most strike outs in a single season with 88 K's in 164 AB. He will still probably end up being a really good player, but he's been less than great as a freshmen, batting .220.
