Bama would never sign off on this.
They will if LSU gets Florida as their permanent opponent. With the 3-6-6 model the strength of schedule is more fair across the board regardless of who your permanents are.

There is no way Bama gets Tennessee, Auburn, AND LSU. And Auburn is not getting UGA, Bama, AND LSU.
LSU is not getting Bama every year. But, fret not. In a 3-6-6 schedule, we would play every team not our perms two times in every 4-year cycle.
I want LSU to get: 1. Ole Miss, 2. Arkansas, and 3. Texas rather than A&M.

I guess I can see Texas being a strong possibility
I’d think they’re tied up with Oklahoma, a&m, and Arkansas though

LSU permanent 4 should be Arky, Ole Piss, Misses State

This. We will not have Bama on our schedule every year because Bama has Tenn & Auburn already. Their 3rd game will be a Vandy/Kentucky/Missouri type.

Missouri, oky, Texass, and baby sister A&M.

I believe there are 3 former SWC teams.
Arkansas, Texas A&M, Texas
Missouri and OU were not in the SWC.

I don’t want it taking 15 years to play at an opposing East school.

Yeah b/c nothing gets me more fired up than playing Missouri or Vandy.

Kentucky was an original member and I like playing them every few years. South Carolina’s been in the SEC for 30 years and are a worthy opponent. I concur with Mizzou and Vandy though.

Why is this board so pathetically scared of bama
Posted on 2/14/23 at 6:08 pm to GeauxLSU4
Watch it end up being Miss St, Ole Miss, and Arkansas. Lol

Bama has a bigger rivalry with Auburn and Tenn they're not separating them.
Ole Miss and TAMU make sense for LSU.

My buddy who runs a sports site for Texas says A&M won’t be their permanent opponent. They might get Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri.
I think A&M and Ole Miss are near certain permanent opponents for LSU. It’s the third one that’s tricky.
Auburn and Tennessee are near certain for Bama. Georgia and Bama are probable for Auburn.
I can’t see Bama or Auburn wanting LSU as a permanent opponent. Then again, the Bama/LSU game has gotten so big the last few years, the league may want it.
Tennessee and Georgia are near certain opponents for Florida and I can see Florida pushing back on adding LSU.
I’m going to guess it’s A&M, Ole Miss and either Arkansas or Miss State for LSU. I’ve heard it could be Auburn, but Auburn is so locked in historically with Ga and Bama, I can see them raising holy hell if they get Ga, Bama and LSU. That’s the worst draw any SEC would get.
The only thing for certain is there is going to be a lot of whining from fans who catch a three team murderers row. Arkansas could get Texas, A&M, Oklahoma and/or LSU. Ouch. They’ll want Missouri or one of the Mississippi teams mixed in.
We will soon know who has the strongest politics.

Something I’m seeing nobody mention is Oklahoma. I don’t like it, but I really think it’s gonna happen so they can put LSU/OU on rivalry weekend.
If Texas and Aggie play on thanksgiving they gotta fill that hole on Saturday. After the Iron Bowl the SEC schedule is light on rivalry weekend.

TAMU hasn't been relevant in like 30+ years and Ole Miss is a historically shite program even if they play LSU hard. I'd be okay with Oklahoma. They'd be really the only good program LSU would be locked into every year.
Texas, TAMU, Bama will have the most pull on politics for match ups.

but does bama allow their perm opponents to be Auburn, LSU, and TN?
There are 16 schools voting on this. Even if I bought into the conspiracy that Bama controls the conference office, they don’t control the 15 other schools.

We shouldn't have permanent opponents. Allow teams that want them to have them. Teams that don't are ambivalent about it allow to have non-permanent opponent schedules.
Most schools want permanent opponents.

They aren’t getting a slate that easy. They will get a second upper tier team, almost certainly A&M.

That would suck for Alabama.
