The position where it makes the absolute LEAST sense to ever stay for your senior year if you are an elite talent is RB. They have the shortest shelf life in the NFL.

Leonard has been beyond awesome in his time at LSU. On and off the field. Coming from a YUGE Leonard fan, I don't even want him coming back. It's not what's best for him. And having the depth we have obviously makes that much easier to say. Go get paid. Don't go to Atlanta. Or Carolina. That is all.

I highly doubt he stays. If he does, it'll be lagniappe and completely awesome. He is gonna talk to Coach O and the rest of the draft eligible guys and take it from their.

either way, thanks for the memories Leonard. It's been fun!

Same chance as Mr. Blutarsky's GPA.

He needs to go. It's foolsish to risk an injury when that much money is on the line.

Fournette is great. LSU would be better off if he stayed. I like Fournette. I would be better off if he stayed.

That said I hope he goes pro. Why? Because it is the right thing to do for himself AND because it does not leave LSU without a great running back. Guice is a beast and we will manage without him. Go pro and make everyone proud!

He has a slightly better chance of coming back than Shaq did of switching to underhand free throws.

Someone once asked Shaq how bad his free throw % would have to get to change to shooting them underhand, his reply was that it would have to be a negative percentage.

Fournette would have to be a completely different type of person than almost everyone else to come back. The only thing that I can possibly think would be if he wants to play for the new coach (or help support O if he's the guy). It would allow him to be closer to the program in future years.

I agree completely. I would actually be upset if he decided to stay. He has given his all to LSU and has been a great ambassador. Him staying just wouldn't benefit LSU enough, and he wouldn't benefit much at all. LSU will be fine with Guice, Williams, and whoever else fills out the backfield. He will not be the difference between not winning and winning the SEC next year.

Someone else noted that RB is the position where it makes the least sense to stay if you have elite talent. I will actually take that a step further. I think if you can make the league, even if you don't have elite talent, it's better to go as soon as you can. You only have a certain amount of hits in your legs. Might as well get paid while you can.

Williams came to LSU in the same class as LF. He is a junior.
