Has LSU women’s basketball ever been profitable? Is any women’s basketball profitable? I don’t understand how WNBA makes money much less college

As Dale Brown once said our players don’t eat at Denny’s and sleep at Motel 6 . Where are you going to get a decent place to stay for under a $ 100.00 a night, Breakfast, lunch, dinner $ 50.00 . Run a first class program or nothing at all 2007 was a good year . 2018 A drink, fries, burger at Burger King is neatly $7.00 bucks.

I can't go from watching athletes take flight from the middle of the paint and dunk on someone who's elbow is Above the Rim to watching missed layups from point-blank range all while being played 3 feet below the rim

So you don't like the game the way it was intended to be played? You'd rather watch them be allowed to travel and palm the ball just so they can make a shot that was never intended to be part of the game?

I mean, if that's the way you want basketball to be, it should just go to a 3on3 street rules game.

Look Ash, you can play, just dont expect anyone to watch or care

And girls palm the ball and travel. It happens in slow fricking motion in wbb so it's always called lol

Which WBB program actually bring in revenue besides UConn?

More of them than college baseball programs.

Colleges should not have to support athletic programs that lose money. The end.

I never been to a LSU WBB game. I did date a college WBB player in the late 80’s and attended her games. The stands were mostly empty at both home and away games. They usually had a crowd by the end of the 4th because men’s games played next.

I like women’s volleyball and tennis better than men’s for the entertainment value. I will watch other women’s sport during the Olympics but only then.

She should be fired on performance alone. And 900K makes it that much more needed. She has been a huge coaching bust.

The SEC had 4 baseball teams turn a profit last year and 1 that broke even. That's probably more than WBB programs.
LSU dwarfs most SEC brethren, others nationwide in baseball revenue, profit

Her salary is $700K, not $900K LINK. I have no idea where the $900K number comes from.

And most logical rational people from places not named UConn or Tennessee would say that making the NCAA Tournament 6 out of 7 years (which is what it will be when this team gets in this year) is not "a huge coaching bust". She did NOT inherit a program coming off of 5 Final Fours...she inherited a program that had missed the NCAA's in Van Chancellor's last year. Yes, they had a 10 win season 2 years ago, which can happen when your 3 best players miss the season with injuries. They turned it around and got back to the NCAA's last year, and this year's team is even better.

I get that her recruiting is up for criticism. I get that they have been one and out in the NCAA's the last 2 times they have gone. But to label a coach who will make 6 of 7 NCAA tournaments "a huge coaching bust" is ignorant.

I wouldn't disagree that Alleva overpaid her when he hired her, but don't take that anger out on the coach. It isn't her fault. Everyone blames Alleva for everything else, and he probably earns it.

Can’t we just go out and hire the coach “O” version of women’s basketball at a huge discount? Nobody cares about WBB. Get the cheapest staff you can, and try to limit expenses as best you can. Probably why the Aggies have so much money. They don’t have to burn piles of money on female sports that no one watches or cares about.

The Aggies women's basketball coach makes $100K more than Fargas, and they just spent $28.6 million to build a new softball stadium. So I guess that dumbass theory just got shot to hell. Try to be educated before you form a stupid opinion.

Texas A&M spends 25 million a year on Female Sport Teams while LSU spends 20 million. Please STFU if you do not know what you are talking about. The EADA provides ALL this information for you, so do a little research before you come on here with your bullshite.
