I don’t like it, but if LSU can’t do it, then no one should be able to do it. Also, you can’t go changing rules right before a season starts. There should have been a firm rule on this from the beginning.
ETA: It's also silly that this is all coming about for a backup tight end. Like, who cares?

I can guarantee you LSU officials are hoping the NCAA/SEC wins tomorrow. A loss tomorrow for these athletes may look like they are dunking on LSU but that won’t be the reality. We should keep that in mind.

I'm in favor for this situation only with the vagueness of the ruling of the 5 for 5. Moving forward I would say once you're done with your fifth year you're college career is over.
