And if he was looking for a job next year, he would likely have several great programs to pick from. I bet Alabama would love to have him.

On paper, since LSU's last championship, I see a lot of parity and bunch of similar resumes.

Our recent success coupled with past dominance & total attendance figures still makes the program the best in the country with no drop-off in sight despite the parity in college baseball.

LSU, 2009 champs
One missed tournament, 3 total CWS appearances,

South Carolina, 2010-2011 Champs
Has not made the CWS since Tanner took over as AD in 2012

Arizona, 2012 champs
2 CWS appearances, missed the tournament 3 of last 4 years

UCLA, 2013 champs
Only 1 tournament appearance since championship

Vanderbilt, 2014 champs
Zero missed tournaments since 2005. 3 CWS appearances

Virginia, 2015 champs
Zero missed tournaments since 2003, 4 CWS appearances

Coastal Caroline, 2016 champs
Zero msised tournaments since 2009, 1 CWS appearance

Every coach in the country wishes they had those numbers in Omaha

A lot of those coaches wish they could just make it to Omaha, which is hard to do, especially consistently.

Would you also be criticizing John Calipari if he was LSUs basketball coach? Only has one championship, wins the sec like every year and then gets bounced out of the tournament..

Since you brought it up....

Cal in eight seasons:
2 elite eights
2 final fours
1 runner up
1 NC
1 missed tournament
1 round of 32

Equivalent to 6 CWS trips, losing in a regional final, and missing the NCAAT

CPM has the equivalent to 1 NC, 3 Elite Eights, 2 Sweet Sixteen, 2 round of 32 exits, and 2 missed NCAAT. Can you imagine if Wade did that in the next 10 years?

Only at LSU would you have a baseball team which wins the SEC, gets a national seed, and still have their fans talking up firing the coach.

As you said, stupid and spoiled. Let me add, shitty fans.

Wait so I'm confused. I was defending Paul during rabbble rabble fire Paul threads a month or two ago. And I was downvoter to hell. Now it's the exact opposite. The rant is a special place

Look- Skip will even tell you this- winning it all takes a lot of luck. Plain and simple. Getting the best draw that day for your team is about as important as your team itself. We keep playing like this- get a few lucky breaks- get some favorable draws and we can definitely win it all. If this team can play like this from here on out- I like our chances.

Let's play with these numbers:

I'm gonna be lazy and only use the last 5 years since I know we were national seeds those years:

2012 3-0 Regional, 1-2 Supers
2013 3-0 Regional, 2-0 Supers
2014 2-2 Regional
2015 3-0 Regional, 2-0 Supers
2016 3-1 Regional, 0-2 Supers

Total Regional 14-3, advanced to Supers 4/5 or 80%
Total Supers 5-4, advanced to CWS 2/4 or 50%
Total for these 5 years: advanced to CWS 2/5 or 40%

So in reality, the last 5 years we have won 80% of the regionals hosted at the Box where we were heavy favorites to win. Good job CPM!!!
But then when you add in the Supers where we again hosted at the Box and were favorites to win we won 50% (coin flip)...Not as good CPM.
And if you look at these last 5 years total, where we hosted both Regional and Supers at the Box and we're the favorite team to win, we've advanced to the CWS 2/5 or 40% of the time. Not such a good job CPM.

I'm not saying we should fire CPM but anyone who finds a 40% success rate acceptable when we're favorites playing at home is a little tolerant.

BTW Broski, just using your numbers, not directed at you.

EDIT: After getting a lecture from Tigercoop in another game of numbers I stand corrected on my criticism of a 40% success rate over the last 5 years. In actuality, that is not a bad success rate compared to other coaches and teams. My crow will be medium rare tonight.

I know he's doing great in the SEC tourney and always has, but everyone always showing their arse trying to hate on other fans need to realize most people are upset bc of what he's done after the SEC tourney.

Like he said the other night, you don't come to LSU to win midweek games, you come to win championships. So he needs to go out and win another NCAA championship.

I know winning the SEC is a big accomplishment, but it just doesn't suffice at LSU. We want CWS titles.

I think what most fans that hate on him don't understand, is their is more parody in college baseball now, than ever. It's why a team like CofC can win it all like they did last year.

That said, no need to come on here and act immature, there's no reason some of his teams since '09 shouldn't have done better than what they did.

I guess I can see both sides of things, unlike most people on tRant.
