We need a brand new state-of-the-art PMAC and don’t decrease the capacity.

I'd like to see a new arena but keep it around 9-10k capacity.

Build it to amplify noise and closeness to court.

i agree, 10,500 premium/club seating plus seats closer to the courts, with open concourse

I went to a Texas Tech game earlier this year and their stadium holds around 15k I believe and it felt smaller than the PMAC.

It is a really nice arena and loud too. they have premium club seating, actual courtside seats and the fans seem to be right in the court.

For now, let's fix the leaking roof, do all the current needed repairs, and some "refreshment" and then revisit the topic in a year or two.

Mulkey is going to ensure this happens. Actually may be a good time to go for it. If we have sanctions, we can ride the momentum of the new arena as we come out of them.

Scott basically just destroyed our basketball program because we "might" get a football sanction. He doesn't give a frick about basketball and that's 100% clear at this point.

I can’t imagine this being true, since all sports are his responsibility and basketball is the second highest revenue generator on campus.
Also the PMAC aid home to 4 different sports teams. And is used for events like graduation and concerts.
So I’m can’t in good faith believe he’s thinking… yeah frick it

Those of you “close to the program”, had stated that designs for a new arena OR major renovations were happening.

Is this STILL the case, now that men’s will take a few years to get back in the mix of an NCAA tournament?

If I was a TAF admin I would be scared shitless to make a major expenditure on facilities given the landscape of NIL and how the NCAA will function in the future. Not that it isnt needed.

FWIW, I believe Mulkey has more stroke than MacMahon right now...

The plan has always been a new Arena. Won't change with new HC.

Lakefront arena is 100x nicer than the PMAC and it gets 1000 fans all basketball season.
