It’s telling that you can’t actually name one.

Let's just hire whoever won the national championship last year. That should solve everything.

Corbin is definitely and underachiever relative to his talent level. And the new rule that allows for immediate eligibility for guys not on baseball money will start to make people look harder at the way they get guys on campus. They had like 7 guys transfer out over the summer and pretty much every one of them is playing this spring. Weird how they can get so many guys to walk on.

Yeah their ability to get guys the way they do is a huge advantage.

Can you link that new rule or at least an article about it? Curious how it works. Will it affect TOPS money for local kids who want to come to lsu, etc

There is no premier program (to the extent that LSU was for that 20+ year stretch). There are absolutely a few programs that are doing much better than LSU right now: Vandy, Oregon State, Florida. But LSU is not the same program now that it once was. I wouldn’t say it’s bad, but it’s also not premier.

You need a premier leader to stay there, the game has left CPM behind.

Vandy and Oregon State I can see. But Florida? Gtfoh

And honestly I can argue against Oregon State as well but I’ll leave that be

Vandy: sure
Florida:
Oregon State: remains to be seen how the program does going forward without Pat Casey

Oregon State had a good run for a few years but last year they went 0-2 in their own regional losing to powerhouses Cincinnati and Creighton. They are ranked #23 and #25 in two pre-season polls. Their “premier” status may have expired already.

These “fans” gave PM hell for losing a super regional against Florida state.

Florida went to Lubbock as a fricking 3 seed and lost and that was AFTER LSU bounced them in the first round of the SEC tournament.

But yea Florida is such a better program.

Yea I was so busy laughing at the Florida comment that I totally missed Oregon State on that list. That’s why I edited

Well the main point I was trying to make is that LSU is no longer a “premier” college baseball program. Y’all can nitpick away at the other stuff I said, whatever.

Well here's the point that everybody with a brain understands. If you are expecting LSU to have a run of complete domination, like they did in the 90's you are NEVER going to be satisfied. You know why nobody is a "premier" program? Because nobody can do that anymore. Why is this concept so difficult to understand?

You just kinda reinforced the point I made.

ETA: I fricking hate arguing with elitist LSU baseball fans. Y’all get your feelings hurt so goddamn easily if people aren’t absolutely bowing down to the program.

Answer me this, honestly. Is the SEC the premier conference in all of college baseball, by a whole lot???
