100% Safford. He practiced at 2nd yesterday.

Gio in CF
Safford at 2nd
Beloso at DH

I’m glad Paul warned us now, because I have to work early Saturday and there is no reason to stay up to watch Sanford strikeout looking all night.

Safford at 2nd

Bringing that .094 average to the plate would be laughable.

If he was that good vs RH pitchers he would have had mroe than 32 AB all season with his 3 hits and 1 rbi.

This move wouldn't surprise me and would be soooo CPM to do it.

I'd love to know the BA for righty vs. lefty. I feel like PM is wayyy overthinking this. He needs to role his normal lineup out there and play with the DH spot if necessary.

1. Tre 1B
2. Crew RF
3. Dugas LF
4. Doughty 3rd
5. Beloso DH (i'm going for thicc Beloso)
6. Bicano 2nd
7. Thompson SS
8. Millazo C
9. Gio CF

Its gonna be safford, so many things hinting at it

If he wants to stand short in the box and not swing

Curious where this lands Bianco

I would be okay if he just started Bianco at second and Beloso at DH but not Safford in the lineup whatsoever. Bianco believe it or not is solid in the field he always turns the double play with ease

I’m thinking Bianco in CF and Gio at DH or Vice versa

We need some left handed bats in their against him, we might surprise some people with our lineup

Honestly, the way maineri has managed the lineup this season the only thing that would surprise me is a good batting order.

There is zero reason Bianco should be starting CF over Gio

He hit some balls hard early in the season and was getting on base otherwise, but he really started to struggle.

Many will point to his weight loss, but who really knows why he started to struggle. Baseball players can get in their own heads. They've tinkered with some things but he just can't shake it. I'm sure the coaches and players really wish they had the answer, too.

He was good as a freshman. Great is a stretch.

I heard our new hitting coach changed his swing from what his personal guy was doing. It’s ruined him

Paul is looking to play Safford at 2B because Oregon has a turf field and Safford played on turf at UHS. At least that’s what he seemed to be alluding to on AFR.

A reminder what Paul said in 2010 RE: Wet Delatte

“For the life of me, I can’t understand how a kid can’t field the ball cleanly when we’re playing on carpeting,” LSU coach Paul Mainieri said. “There was no bad bounce, nothing. It’s a double play and we fumble the ball.”

Really? Everything looked the same from his freshman year except his timing. To me, he was rarely getting his front foot down at the right time with that high leg kick. He was always way early or late to start his swing.

That’s not why. Agree with the decision or not but that’s not true. I’m don’t know if he actually said that or not. If he did he’s just giving something to the media to print. And I disagree with him starting if he does

Is anyone happy with the bottom half of the line up at the plate? We have left handers…. use them. We’re around .200 with 6-9. We could do better if this pitcher is vulnerable to lefties. If not, then add Beloso and let it ride. Take some chances.

I know it’s the lefty thing. Matt brought it up and PM went along with it.
