I realize that LSU did get manhandled by Florida at "The Swamp" but what I can't understand is how USC can lose to an unranked Oregon State team and we slide further than they did when we lost. I think we should be behind USC in the polls but it just seems like USC has the pollsters on their side too much.I also think that if things are turned around our season is not lost but it would be nice to have that same benefit as USC.

usc= media darling
LSU just needs to win and things will work out.
Quality wins over GA & Bama will help alot plus SEC champ game. 1 game at a time

Besides their leave it to Beaver Game...
USC has been more flamboyant? They have been more exciting to watch (minus the AU game)? They have been more solid on both sides of the ball?

LSU has been pretty pedestrian except fo the AU game. Good running game....and average passing, mediocre/poor defense.

USC has been much more than that. Besides, the pollsters love them.

I have ask myself that all week. It is complete bullshite. OSU was 1-2 when they beat USC. How the frick can the be ahead of Georgia or LSU? Its all a joke. They should not be in the top 10.

USC has shown that they can win the big games even though they lose 1-2 that they should win every year.

LSU's best win is at AU, which now doesn't look as big as it did in September....

If we win out, i would say our chances are breppy good or getting back in. We don't win out, and it looks like the pollsters are right.

USC fell the same number of spots LSU did, or very close. Plus they have a virtual cake walk to the conference championship.

What we need: 1) UF to win the east. 2) We run the table. 3) Avenge our only loss in the SECCG. Then that should put us where we wanna be. It can be done.

This is a bit of a dead horse beating but your correct USC could lose to University of Mexico and still stay in the top 10. The media (esp ESPN) would chalk it up to a fluke and spend 1/2 of SportsCenter saying that U of M is on the rise. total BS

ESPN loves SCw because they NEED the west coast market. Voters don't give a rat sass since most of them are eastt of the Mississippi.

losing to a top 5 team vs. an unranked team?

both teams basically lost by 20 or so points in one half.

i don't care enough about the rankings to start a thread but it really is pretty pathetic that they are where they are. not to mention oklahoma.

Based on games played thus far:

USC = #3 toughest schedule in the country.

They have the best win of any one-loss team, over Ohio State. Plus, a win over two-loss Oregon who is very close to the top 25 (and will probably break into the polls with a win this week).

LSU = #66 toughest schedule in the country.

Wins over an abysmal Auburn and Mississippi State, with a blowout loss to the only decent team we've played this year.

As LSU wins over UGA and Alabama, and USC wins over extremely weak Pac-10 teams, their SOS will drop and ours will improve.

We will move above them in the BCS. As for the AP poll, it's inconsequential, as it does not factor into the BCS whatsoever.
