We keep hearing how our pick 6 QB is actually a better QB.

So when we replace a bunch of starters, we are better, but when pther teams do it, they're worse? I don't know if you've been keeping up, but Bama and Florida have been recruiting pretty well too.

Yes. Any time you lose 13 years, you can get worse.

True, but there's no reason we can't keep up with them then

I strongly believe the the two starters leaving that hurt us the most was jones and lafell. But we have ridiculous talent at wr and db. Someone just has to step up. I like our dline this year we will finally see a good pass rush. once baker is better ill like our 4 guys at lb.

The verdict is out on the oline and rb. But the guys that were starting didnt really produce last year and most of them are gone.

Yes, and I think that while we have some guys leaving, we can have potentially better players filling their shoes

ie. Randle, Shepard, Loston etc

And Alabama and Florida could reasonably have better players filling in... so it remains a toss up, having Alabama at home helps but Florida away hurts.

And what do you base that off of? Just happy thoughts?

I was more positive going into last year. I thought we'd lose 2-3 games last year prior to the season.

After the Washington and Vandy games, I didn't know if we'd win more than 6.

I'll tell you one realistic reason that I am not positive about this season: I have zero faith in Les Miles as a coach.

So I'm saying that there's a fairly good chance that we have a shot to compete with the best of the best.

It's possible other teams we play will be better or will have the home field advantage this season.

I would agree that we should be better on offense; however, there are some major factors that could hold us back this year. Gary Crowton is still here. I still can't blieve some of the bonehead playcalls he made last year in crucial situations. Second, Miles seems to have an inability to manage the game in tight situations. There will be games this year that we are evenly matched with the opposition, and the coaching will be the deciding factor between winning and losing.

I'll be realistic. We can go undefeated. And I am serious. A few plays one way or the other and we can win every game.

I expect Miles and Crowton to open it up considering the heat thats being applied.

Very true, which is why I'm saying that that's all it takes to lose 3 games, or 0 games. And we can certainly be on the better end of that

I look for a simular record to last year. I will be very satisfied if LSU is a team that is competative in all their games and have no losses to blame on poor coaching.

Said that in 2008. Defense tanked. Said that in 2009. Offense non-existent. Can things get better? Sure. Can things get worse. They can. Wishful thinking is that they will get better. But playing the "we have better talent this year" card doesn't play for me anymore. We've had great, hi-ranked recruiting classes consistently, but wasted more talent in the last couple of seasons than I care to think about.
