Ronnie prude was good at LSU!
If I was a bit surprised by anyone making it to the NFL, it'll Chris Hawkins
I remeber the Sugar Bowl versus Notre Dame... Prude was great that game....

You sure you're not thinking of "Corbello for Heisman"? There were shirts made and everything.
Maybe so. I was in college at the time and drinking heavily!
I could have sworn it was jones

I guess it's easy to get a little foggy on them because it's been awhile, but I still remember Dan Bourne saying their names a million times over the Tiger Stadium PA.
Perhaps this explains why some fans are maniac negatigers. Because they either weren't around on the come-uppance of this program, or they just forget.
And to whomever brought up McCray - it is still unbelievable to me he's at the next level.

McCray was productive at LSU, his biggest issue was that he was put in man coverage as a nickel back and he was ill-suited for that. but he always had good size and athleticism for the safety spot, which is all the NFL is asking him to play.

Ryan Clark was a 2 year starter when LSU began its rise

yeah, he did real good at the safety spot against R-Kansas.

Do you remember???? Because Ronnie Prude left after the 2005-2006 season. We went to the Sugar Bowl after the 2006-2007. Jonathon Zenon maybe? Pretty sure he had a INT. LeRon had a sick game too, but there is no way you get those two confused!
I am surprised at the success of Perry Riley. He was a good reliable starter at LSU, but I never would have anticipated his success at Washington. Especially if you consider other LSU LBs that have come out and done nothing. Trev Faulk, Ali Highsmith, Beckwith...etc. Maybe the poor performance of the CO-D cordinators Riley's year overshadow what he did at LSU.

McCrary was definitely used wrong at LSU. Micah Eugene reminds of McCray. Talented but the coaches put him in bad situations.

Wow... I didn't even know Ryan Clark went to LSU. And I am REALLY good at knowing where people went to school. To be fair, I started watching college football seriously in 2001 when I was 11 years old.

Nope, not gonna do it, wouldn't be prudent!

I don't remember Nate Livings being a consistent force on our o line. He is a solid starter in the league now.

He worked his way into starting by kicking arse for several years on special teams. He's actually in a position where he is not exposed as much like he was at LSU. McCray did get burned twice by Ben Watson though. Reminded me of the LSU days.
What ever happened to Demetrius Hookfin?

I remember them all pretty well except for Nate Livings for some reason

This! We didn't have the CB depth that we had the years following or during the PP, MC, TM, and Ron Brooks years. Therefore safeties like McCray and Chad Jones had to play CB and get exposed. However, letting a fullback get wide open on 4th and long...never ok! Damn you McCray

Surprised no one has mentioned Randall Gay yet. (unless I missed it)
Non-starter/nickelback at LSU and went on to have a great career with Pats/Saints.
