I'd like to see Nuss over Daniels before we enter SEC play

But for real, it's no doubt Hurd

No I’m telling you what it’s going to be. It has already been released.

Surprised Cooper didn’t play these past 4 games. Is he hurt? If not, I’d assume he plays significant innings toss week.

He warmed up a couple times the last few games, probably just didnt want to throw him in non leverage situations. Im sure he’ll pitch in some capacity this weekend. He and Ack and prob our two most high leverage arms for friday and saturday

It still amazes me how in one year we go from can't find a weekend starter to trying to decide between so many options.

Hurd pitched Monday. Sunday would be five days rest, which is probably fine, but CJJ might want to give him a relief role, or start him Sunday and pull him after 45 pitches or so. Then he could have him well rested for next Saturday.

If Hurd wasn't coming off of an injury season I doubt this would be an issue, and it might not be anyway.

He pitched off 5 days rest last week. If you want him ready for ATM next week he needs to go ahead and go to Sunday so he can have his recovery routine established by the time SEC starts.

He wanted Hurd throwing against Texas
Otherwise Hurd would've been in weekend rotation since week 1
Shores is gonna be a good one too but I would use him in short stints on weekend and he can start midweek game depending on weekend usage

I also think Floyd would have been starter opening weekend as well but the Taylor injury forced him back to bullpen but with emergence of Little and Ackenhausen you can start Floyd now

Id rather stick him in the midweek role and let him develop. Its a luxury for sure, but we have enough quality bullpen arms where we dont need to stunt his develop as frontline SP.

Similar to what Vandy did with Jack Leiter that year.. let him cut his teeth in the midweek and he'll be first up if someone (Skenes, Floyd, Hurd) goes down

I am with you. I'd like to see Hurd get that Sunday start and then transition Shores to the midweek.

Curious to see how they use Little after pitching him close to 60 pitches on Wednesday. Does he get 9th inning closeout innings? Or used in a semi-extended outing out of the bullpen on Sunday.
