Walker going in game 2. CPM would not say why. Maybe to have Walker pitch in afternoon and Henry at night?

I say keep it like it is. Their Saturday night guy is very good. If we luck out on Game 2, Walker will go for the Sweep on Game 3.

What’s A&M doing with their rotation? Maybe he’s playing a match up game.

Walker will be going against A & M’s undefeated (5-0) starting pitcher, Lacy, at 2:00 PM which is the “Sunday” game.

Why? Lacy is their Saturday guy?

In 42.2 innings pitched Lacy has held opponents to a .152 batting average against him.

Mainieri may be sacrificing Walker to count on Henry to win the series tomorrow night.

Eta: aTm’s team batting average, slugging percentage and on-base percentage are all lower than ours. Also, we’ve stolen more bases than them this season.

Henry is just pitching in his normal spot/time. Mainieri could either disrupt two pitchers schedules or just one. He's apparently gone with the latter. It's not that crazy.

Maybe he’s trying to throw them off by sliding the 87 mph guy in between two 94-96 guys.....

This is what it is more likely. Going from seeing a 93-95 mph FB and a wipeout slider to someone with pinpoint control and loves to throw a 88mph FB after his 75mph changeup.

Hard to adjust speeds, then Henry behind him throwing similar speeds to Hess.

I like the change

My thought is to keep the daytime pitcher throwing during the day and the nighttime pitcher throwing after dark!

Probably just a mental thing for Henry. Don’t do anything that would change his approach all week going into today.

Also could be that there’s a much better chance for a rain delay during the first game, and he feels more comfortable throwing Walker back out there after a delay (like he did last weekend) than he would with Henry.

Pretty sure that’s only for out of conference. Conference double headers are 9 innings

Unless the double header is on day 3 of a scheduled 3 day series. Then each game is 7 innings, per SEC rules.
