Move Hurd to Saturday and let him continue to develop and work his way. Let Shores go to Sunday and continue to develop. Move Floyd to the back end you have tw closing options with him and Little.

Knee jerk reactions like this are what separates the Coach Kelly's of the world from the Coach Orgerons. We have too small of a sample size right now to justify that. Floyd and Hurd will both bounce back. And Floyd is not a closer. He's too prone to giving up solo HRs and long fly outs so he needs to start games where they won't be so catastrophic. The more likely scenario would be to make Hurd the closer and Little the starter but I wouldn't change anything yet. The bullpen hasn't gotten much work and it's made it difficult for the staff to learn who to trust when

Edit because I was blaming Thompson for the bad throw to third that was apparently Dugas.

Did you watch the same game? These umps had a terrible strike zone. I can assure you this crew will get a talking 2. They were calling balls on pitches that MLB umps would have rung you up on

Weird zone for sure. Watching on tv several pitches I would call strike and jump said ball and Vice versa. He called some questionable strikes.

Umps didn’t help any pitchers all weekend.

Damn! And just think, yesterday we were going to go undefeated for the rest of the season and sweep the CWS and the MLB World Series

I make a comment about the bullpen and get dislikes out the arse and you say pitching let down and get likes. This fan base is delusional.

If Little throws strikes to the .100 pinch hitter, LSU wins the game. Walking him turned the entire game. Hope our pitching coach gets on these guys big time. It would be a shame to waste all our hitting talent with pitchers that refuse to throw it over the plate. The best hitters is baseball history get a hit 1 out of 3 times , so throw strikes, make them get a hit for goodness sake. Same crap as last year and the year before.

Floyd was off this weekend. He can normally locate his fastball well. I think he is going to bounce back and have a big game this Saturday against the hogs. I look for Floyd to become a serviceable Saturday Starter in the SEC. Same with Hurd also, and he prob has more upside. If we dont see improvement this coming weekend then maybe make some small changes.

Pitching certainly was a let down, but when you score 4 in the first and bounce their starter you need to find a way to score more than two runs the rest of the game. Floyd and Hurd also need to give you more than 3.1 innings a piece. Gotta expect to win when you have Hurd, Shores and Little throwing on Sunday.

I agree with this but a lot of pitches were no where near a zone even if there was an established one. The pitching was meh all around after Skenes
