I'll try and explain it to you in simple terms.

--Lsu has a regional locked up
--Lsu needs to win this tourney or at least make the finals to have a shot at a notional seed.
--the only chance they have of doing that is to have Lange to beat Florida.

No. Just don't pitch a guy who you're pulling after 2 innings no matter what. That was the CPM dumbass decision.

He wanted Latz to get innings. The only way to guarantee that was have him start. What is so hard to understand about that

Only one pitcher on staff absolutely needed to pitch vs live hitters... and we started him. These games don't matter for the NCAA tournament, we are a regional host going 0-1 or winning the whole thing.

For the grief this poster gets for various reasons, this assessment is 100% truth.

I wanted Valek. Don't think these Vol hitters would have hit him and he can pitch 6-7 innings.

This thread is another example as to why people need to wait until the end of games to make broad absolute statements. LSU was not going to lose that game because of pitching decisions.

Tennessee is a 12th ranked team

Tennessee had one of the worst pitching staffs in the SEC, but also had a pretty good offense.

We didn't nearly lose the game last night due to our pitching.
