I despise the pitch clock. Both it and the shift should be banned

Batter has to be ready and make eye contact with the pitcher at the 8 second mark of the pitch clock

I agree, I think players should be able to shift but within limits. Like the left side of the infield can’t go past an imaginary line from home plate through second base out to center field and the same with the right side but you should be able to move players in any position on their respective sides. Also, infielders shouldn’t be able to play halfway into the outfield. Maybe have some sort of 5 yard rule into the grass.

Why should they not be allowed to shift where they want?

It takes away from the game. The game wasn’t designed to be played with data on every AB a batter has taken since tee ball.

I don't think it should be banned, I just wish we would quit using it. It seems to hurt us more than it helps. Definitely turned a double play into a single last night, and turned an out into a hit the night before.

pitch clock should exist but shouldnt be overbearing. i'd say tack on 5 seconds and we would almost never have a violation.

Get rid of the instant replay if you don’t want the games to last forever

How long has the shift been allowed in college baseball??? So you would think that coaches and players would learn some best options when the shift is on.

How? Offense is up the last couple years across college baseball. Hitters can adjust and not be so pull happy, and /or drop bunts if its a problem.

Yeah all those statistics like batting avg, era, hr, k, 1b, 2b, 3b etc. etc. etc. that has been used for hundreds of years.

Baseball wasn't designed to use data.

So you want to let the batter mess around all he wants and slow the game down even more but restrict where players can position themselves?

It was needed. Teams were really slow playing pitching (us included).

Why? It leaves a whole area of the field open. If a batter wants to have them stop shifting then he needs to learn to hit it to that area. Do that 2 or 3 times and it stops.
