Not exactly the showing we were hoping for from our new OC. Held to 24 points, 4 turnovers, just 56 rushing yards from the running backs. The offense looked largely mistake prone.

These are my thoughts. What he did in the bowl game is largely irrelevant for how he will do next year, but I wasn't very impressed.

For those of us who had to work, cliffs on Canada, por favor.

Hell, I'm impressed that he got anything out of that crew that closed the game. They blundered away 21 points makng mistakes that I wouldn't put on the coach.

Canada will have a top 3 defense here and way better athletes on offense. He will do fine down here. Now get on a plane and get down here and finish this recruiting class.

OL got its fricking lunch ate all day and some really poor turnovers in the redzone so tough to judge Canada too much

These bowl games are largely about who wants to be there, NW seemed to really want this win

Wouldn't be the game to gauge the hire. Because this wasn't their best game.

First of all its a freaking bowl game and if they would've scored 50 nobody should take anything from that either

Secondly their starting rb and best player went out in the first quarter and their starting qb and best olineman went out in the 3rd.

Yea, meaningless bowl games are pretty poor indicators of future success. The play calling seemed creative at times although there were a few head scratchers.

I only watched the last drive and liked the little I saw. The pass the TE dropped was a really nice play.

Looked like LSU/UF

Play calling was solid. Offense moved at will most of the game with alot of big plays (averaged 8.5 yards per play). But made a handful of really bad self-inflicted mistakes that cost them immensely.

FB slipped at the 1 yard line on 3rd and goal with an open endzone in front of him. TOD on next play
QB threw into double coverage in the red zone, interception
WR running the jet sweep fumbled twice, lost one of them
Backup QB throws perfect pass to TE in endzone late in game only for him to bobble it and get it knocked away. Throws interception on next play (4th down) making it the 3rd trip to the redzone to result in 0 points. Pitt lead the country in redzone offense coming into this game btw.

Overall I think he is an upgrade to Cameron/Miles and I think our PPG should go up next year. Combine that with improved defense and we should be competing for championships!

QB I can buy. The dude behind him sucked. But Connor's backup rushed for 1100 yards last year in Connor's absence. Neither one of them got much going on the ground.

did not help either when their Left guard who i think is an all-American left the game also.

I think he should implement the toss dive in his formations. We've had so much success with it over the years. Why throw it away?

Northwestern has a legit defense and plays in the Biggie10.

Was it Henderson? If so, I don't know how. He's fast in the open, but has no vision and every fewer moves to shake a tackler. Reminds me of Trendon Holliday.

Meh. They defended the run well after Connor went out and then wreaked havoc with a freshman backup QB. Both teams would lose large to a faster, more balanced run/pass SEC offense.

Canada showed some spunk IMO. He'll have some fun with our talent.

So far? Have you watched Pitt play this year, other than the bowl game? At least let the guy get here and see what he can do with the talent LSU has. I'm always cautiously optimistic about changes, in anything. I'm dumbfounded at how negative some of you are.
