Regardless of the outcome???? What an idiot. Get rid of a NC winning coach no matter what will happen with the next coach.

The key is what do you think Fat Phil would tell Les privately, not what he said in a college football t.v. pre-season program.

Just told LSU fans to "get a life" when asked did he think Les should be on the Hot Seat.

He talked about the winning %, recruiting, bowl games, and NC.

He said Les would when another one soon.

A guy that lived off of a MNC while driving a team into mediocrity. . .defends another.

So what does that say about you? Haven't you criticized Les' intelligence?

Wow. Not really taking up for Phat, but not a one of his critics in this thread would amount to a zit on his or Miles arse.
What have any of you done, or will ever do, that will surpass either one's achievements?

MN Tigah, I was not disparaging the Vietnam War, nor your service. I was giving a frame of reference regarding the length of someone's connection to LSU, so your comments about it are not a relevant response, though you obviously have the right to be proud of your service.

Secondly, I have nothing against Cholly Mac nor did I say anything bad about him. I was simply referencing how older LSU fans hold him in such high regard and that has skewed their thoughts on what constitutes an acceptable coach at LSU. It's ok to allow Miles to be mediocre because that's what they are used to having been reared during Cholly Mac's largely mediocre tenure.

Third, 8-4 was simply a basic average of what Miles has done the last few years. The exact average is 8.5-4.5, and I rounded down. I suppose you can criticize me for not rounding up.

As for flipping burgers, I would think someone criticizing my maturity and intelligence could have used a more clever insult rather than the platitude you chose. I assure you I will never be flipping burgers for you. Anyone can assert whatever he wants regarding intelligence, wealth, 40 time, etc. over the anonymity of the internet, so comparing brain power scorecards is a vacant endeavor. With that in mind, you have no idea what you're talking about and you should stick to disagreeing about Miles rather than assuming anything about another poster.

Now that's funny. Phil gets canned about a year after he gets a contract extension and he's telling other people's fans about whether or not a coach is on the hot seat?!! I don't think he has a clue.

Not good. It also helps if you hire a good coach.

The Orange Rose lost its bloom when the UT professor revealed that student assistants were writing term papers and doing other things to Keep Haynesworth and his buddies eligible.
Unlike Miles, Phil had one of the worst group of thugs to play in the SEC. Dooley is now trying to clean up the mess as well as rebuild the program.

Haven't read the whole thread but if this is an accurate report of Fulmer's, then he is really out of touch.

Someone name one reason why LSU can't compete year-end, year-out for the SECCG other than coaching.

What does this mean? Are you implying because you suffered through the Cholly Mac years and have had season tickets since the Vietnam War and OMG we should remember the 90s that we should be thankful the donkey from Shrek is coach of LSU?

Dude, you're entitled to your opinion and more power to ya for it. But do you have any idea how immature that sounds?
