No the scheme just sucks.

yeah right. Under Pelini, we were in top 5 in Defense every year. Even better in pass defense efficiency. You may not like the scheme, but the scheme worked under Pelini's direction. Stats don't lie. And when you see these stats year after year, it's no fluke.

Not really it had some serious flaws that showed the second half of last season

the only difference is pelini at least had the guy's confidence and got them to play with intensity. Now we play like pussies with a shitty scheme

Plus Pelini can tweek the scheme. He always had a mystery blitz of the game that worked (well except for the Arkansas game last year when there was no blitz )

These guys cant disquise a blitz at all

christine michael's(rb) and jamarkus mcfarland(dt) 2 5 star recruits. They took there visit to the georgia game and said fans started booing there on team and left early and because of that they would never put on a LSU jersey.

Michael isn't coming because he doesn't have a committable offer from LSU. McFarland was quoted saying something along the lines of LSU not being the best place for him because we have a lot of depth at his position. So yeah, while fans can be embarrassing at times, that's not the reason these two guys aren't coming here.

What about John Thompson at USC? Wasn't he NS's 1st DC? I think he lasted 2 weeks - until he figured out he wasn't calling the defense.

maybe so, but not convinced it was because of scheme. Nevertheless, Pelini's tenure here will, I believe, will be looked upon as quite favorable as time goes by. Would you take him back? There are very few coaches who could replicate his success.
