They will be assigned back to position coaches. Which is fine by me at this point.

I don't care what happens to Mallveto as long as a NEW DC is hired NOT named Mallory or Peveto

I'm ok with that as long as they bring in ONE person from outside the program to run the defense.

they need to be shown the door. demoting isn't good enough. IMO they could cause rift on the team next year when a real dc gets here.

in that scenario, Peveto would have to go back to special teams coach to allow another staff hire. peveto is the shittiest ST coach in the history of special teams.

I dont think they'd want to stick around if they're being demoted, especially with how bad they've made the defense. That's what they'll be known for.

I don't love the idea at all, but like someone else stated it's at least a step in the RIGHT direction. I just don't think Miles is going to FIRE his boy Mallory.

Everything Peveto touches turns to shite. He needs to be shown the door, but he won't because he and Les are good friends.

What about peveto's mad coaching of the linebackers.

Just watching them make stick after stick on defense is amazing. Peveto has done a helluva job coaching the LBs

Didn't Spurrier do something similar with Zook years ago at Florida? Promoted him then booted him back to his original position?

I can't imagine someone staying around to do this. This may be offered but I would anticipate these guys moving on to another school.

lsutigerfan14, unless he fires another assistant, he has to fire one of them. We are at the limit for coaches right now because he has 5 on offense, 3 on defense and 1 on special teams. You can only have 9 assistants in college football.

New def coordinator YES! He should have authority to keep or fire any defensive coach.
