I’m kind of worried that the players are already getting tired of O’s rah rah. That’s the problem with a head coach who is nothing more than a motivator. When you lose the energy, you have nothing left to fall back on.

I think a certain amount of ego comes with winning a national title. There's vindication and "my system is the reason" in all this.
The same thing happened with Les after 2007, even though Les's title was significantly less resounding. Les promoted Malveto for Pete's sake! As if his system would prevail and the pieces didn't really matter.
The one heartbeat and tell the truth Monday and all the hairy high school Pete Carrol slogans aren't going to work when the team is not prepared to play.
And wanting to show it was more you than Aranda...which it seems he wants to show from his statements before the season - to me seems to point to a bit of that ego seeping into the equation.

Yep. I just don't know how he could shite on Aranda like that. Aranda arguably saved O's job in 2017 and 2018 and literally got him hired in 2016 with one of the best defenses in school history

I think that’s exactly why he shite on Aranda and part of why he was so insistent on hiring a DC schematically and philosophically opposite of Aranda. O wants to prove it’s him, not Aranda or Brady, that was responsible for 2019.
Turns out it was them and O sucks when not propped up by elite coordinators. Which we all knew. We’re just seeing it for the first time

I am wondering if anyone in the LSU media beat will ask him about that. The only 2 I know have the balls to do it are Moscona (who I think is not allowed in the press room) and Guilbeau, both catch a lot of crap with those who see through P&G glasses.
While I don't think that comment was directed at last years players, I agree it is a shot at Aranda. For whatever reason for O to say that, O sounds like a High school drama queen here.

It’s so telling that there were rumors for the last couple of years of friction between O and Aranda. And that O never offered the offensive coordinator role to Brady, but was going to keep him as an assistant to Ensminger.

Time to start making a list of you guys running down O and calling him a liar. You’ll be called out when we win again just like all the haters were last year. You can run down Pelini but you should think before you start flapping your gums about O when we just had the greatest LSU season of all time.

I think one year to “coast” when you lost 14 guys isn’t unreasonable jackass. I think Pelini is doing an awful job but you guys attacking O are pathetic.

O hired Pelini, Linehan, and retained Ensminger in the same offseason. He lost more starters to opt outs than any other top tier program. He makes a bunch of loaded comments about Ensminger did 90% of the offensive work and how this years defense is light years better than last. Essentially outright takes multiple shots at Aranda.
Begins his first year as HC without Aranda propping him up, proceeds to put out the worst LSU team in 20 years and the whole program seems like his Ole Miss years.
