PETA's first priority is self promotion - that is what pays their salaries. So, they look to see where the spotlight is shining and run into it. They are not looking to save the most animals, they are looking to raise the most money.

Very true.
They are a political organization not an animal advocacy organization.
They have bigger fish to fry than dogs and cats. Their goal is to bring down capitalism and return the country to a more primitive, "sustainable" state.

They want every animal to die in the wilds either thru untreated disease or being killed by other animals or poachers.
I have never seen PETA get upset about poachers killing animals.
Yet they get upset when we provide a safe habitat with world class medical care.
