Perspectives on coaches - like them, don't like them and on and on...

Every fan base follows the same pattern and our short term memories are juts that. Everybody loves Freeman right now, but ND fans and others forget about their comments saying he WASN'T the guy back in September after losing to NIU.
Georgia fans are now tired of Kirby.
Bama fans loved DeBoer after they beat Georgia, but have zero confidence at season's end.
Florida just may like Napier now, but wanted him to walk the plank in October.
Ryan Day losing to Michigan for 4th time was the last straw, but Ohio State is hot and will likely win the Natty.
Beamer was on the hot seat to kick off the season and Cocks fans are now psyched about 2025.
Etc., etc., etc.,
IF the 2025 LSU team turns out to live up to their potential and starts off 2025 on fire, we ALL will be saying (or justifying) that it took Kelly time after inheriting a dumpster fire from Coach O and we're now bought in. Not saying that will happen, just that all of our fan bases are equally as fickle.

Brian Kelly had an okay year. Not a great year and maybe not even good.
But he’s here and I like him.
Everyone doesnt have to be monolithic in their thoughts about him.
He made some screwups at a high salary.
He came back and beat OU and then won a bowl with some young players.
I would not rather have anyone but him because he’s LSUS coach.

If BK wins a championship next season he didn’t intentionally do it. He lucked into like coach o. I doubt Kelly gets that lucky

Brian Kelly’s floor is higher than any LSU coach other than Saban.
This year was his floor. I don’t love some of his coaching hires, which I’m sure he doesn’t love either. He’s not hard headed and reacts to deficiencies like we would expect (other than special teams for some odd reason).
I’m very happy with him and feel he’s a top 10 coach for sure, maybe top 5.

This mantra that Kelly can’t win a championship is one of the dumbest I’ve ever heard. If Miles and O can win one, Kelly can. And unlike O, Kelly has built winning programs everywhere he’s been. He made a couple of miscues here at LSU but unlike his predecessors, he will make changes quickly to fix the issues. 2025 is shaping up to be the show me year. We’ll see how it goes.

Let’s be honest it’s not like he’s building a monster and it took him 3 years to build up and now he’s ready for a run…this2025 team is not anymore or less hyped than his other teams..

The biggest advantage BK has over previous coaches here is he's not afraid to make changes. Miles was not as bad a coach as this board makes him out to be. Sure, we know his offensive struggles but that's what did him in. He would not adapt and change to modern NCAA and so he declined. BK has made a ton of moves identifying flaws at LSU. He's not perfect but at least he knows when it's not working and willing to push a change. Hopefully he does something about ST because we're going into year 4 and still haven't seen decent STs under him yet.

This is an impressively stupid comment

I dunno … in the current NIL era, and in the absence of player contracts, losing you head coach is a short term death sentence.
Basically, you lose your entire talent pool … and you’re forced to rebuild from scratch. And you’re trying to do it when a healthy amount of your booster donations are being diverted to satisfy the contract of the former coach.
It’s freakin punitive as hell now …. so you gotta be damn sure about it, ‘cuz it’s gonna’ hurt ….
