You watched the 13 wins and missed the one loss I see.

Beat me to it, Hugo!!

For those that haven't heard it, give George Carlin's Baseball vs. Football a listen. Pretty well nails it.

I don't think there is a difference between the fanbases, relative to the sport in question. LSU Football fans are rowdy and passionate, relative to other football fanbases. LSU baseball fans are rowdy and passionate, relative to other baseball fanbases.

But there are zero baseball fanbases at any level that approximate LSU's football fanbase.

Baseball is an "almost" sport. We almost won that game, he almost made that catch, etc. football is an all or nothing sport, we got our arse kicked by Bama, etc.

In baseball, fans think you have a good team if you go .500, in football if you don't go undefeated or one loss, you got no shot at SEC or NC.

Baseball was invented by slow, white, non athletic guys, so their standards for success are much lower.

This post perfectly sums up the intelligence and mentality of most of the rant.

Well stated.

I don't know if baseball fans are more knowledgeable but I think the hardcore fans maybe appreciate the game a little more. A great play is a great play regardless of which team makes it, but the same could be said about football. With football I think the stakes are so much higher on each game and therefore the emotions seem to be higher. With baseball having so many games in the season 1 loss doesn't have as much of an impact on the overall season, although at times you couldn't tell by the meltdown on the rant. And I tend to think baseball tends to have more of a family atmosphere feel to it more so than football. JMO.

It's different mentalities overall.

There's more room to drop a game every now and then you shouldn't in baseball.. because pitching day to day is so key.

"Baseball fans are also usually more knowledgeable of how the game works"

You would think this would be the case, buts its not. Its hard for me to sit out there and hear the idiots yell about which pitch you should be swinging at,steal every baserunner regardless of the situation, and my fav is hollering balk everytime a pitcher throws over. Clueless for the most part about the nuances of the game, just wanting to cheer loudly when something good happens. Go LSU............

this is probably the stupidist statement i've ever read on here. there's lots of superior athletes playing baseball. most blacks don't play it because of the aau system and because THEY CHOOSE not too. your comment is extremely racist; let's see if a white guy doesn't play football it means he's not as good of an athlete. if a black guy doesn't play baseball it's because only slow non-athletic white boys do.
