Do you mean 22 and 23 respectively? Or are you meaning year 2 (this year) and year 3 (next year)?

the disparity between the use of Perkins last year and this year.

Perkins wanted to play a different role. Your initial response is going to be along the lines of, "Players shouldn't make those decisions. The coach should do what's best for the team". And you'd be correct if it weren't for the transfer portal. When you are already short of talent, you can't piss off your best returning defensive player b/c he could bolt to any other team as they would promise him anything he wants. Keeping Perkins happy is better for the team than losing him to a rival. And while the experiment in week 1 didn't last long, (as others have mentioned) other team had enough film on him to figure out his weaknesses.

I swear it's as if none of you watched the last 3 games of last year. Perkins was a non factor. They figured it out. They schemed for him. He may make a play or 2 doing what he did in 2022 but he will not impact the game just being an edge rusher. And the fact our Dline is in such disarray has everything to do with his lack of production. That is problem #1 that will need to be addressed and it will start with a new Dline coach. I have a hard time believing that the same DC that made halftime adjustments last year that helped us win games with a less explosive offense suddenly can't coach. My only concern with House is his commitment to recruiting coming from an NFL background. But if BK decides he needs to make a change there then so be it but there are a lot of factors that have affected this defense this year. yes it is Bk's job to fix it and will give him the offseason to do it. Hopefully they can play well enough to win the last 3 games at home. Finish 9-3 with an opportunity for 10 wins with bowl victory.

Yes exactly. Because we have actual retards coaching our defense.

It is quite simple. He is too small to play DE in the NFL. His future is probably as a weakside LB in a 4-3 or as a strong safety; the staff is actually training him for the future.

That's awesome.

In my opinion, you can say whatever you want...can't be wrong.

Just a good college player nothing “can’t miss” about him. Glad we have him but …..
