He's the type of player that gives a defense new life. He's well on his way to being freshman All-America this season. It feels like LSU has turned a corner defensively, even after the awful tackling against Florida State in the opener, now that Perkins and Baskerville are making plays at LB.

I'm not saying House is the greatest defensive coordinator ever, but he's a legit DC who knows what he's doing. Detail oriented, able to make adjustments. LSU's defense is the strength of this team right now and will keep them in games all season long.

Really is. He’s freaky athletic.

Once he gets the playbook down he’ll be insane

Every big Coach that has come in to change culture at a big school has had a small but strong recruiting class. Perkins will be one of the guys who turned this program around. The transfer portal makes it different but his young guys were great. If he finishes this class off like he should then look out.

I’ve noticed the media is now talking about how he’s not the old a-hole like he used to be and it seems now the local media and receipts really like him.

Him winning yesterday was huge because everyone doubted it and he made it like pretty easy. Didn’t play great and still dominated.

People better watch out, this guy finishing his career here is huge. Like Saban at Alabama. Fortunate for him he gets to coach after Saban leaves and whoever takes over that program we’ll be a failure bc no one will win like him and the next person will never obtain what he did. I expect when he leaves that program will fall off like it was in the mid to late 90s through 07.

He looks like he belongs in that #40 jersey, too.

Perkins is a tremendous linebacker and he should have an outstanding future at both LSU and in the NFL.

It’s always pleasing when a freshman wastes little time showing us that he deserved to be rated so high coming out of high school.

Him and Ojulari blitzing from the same side was nasty.

Perkins is a monster and will start to see coaches having to try and figure out what to do with him. But it won't matter. Players like him will find a way athletically. Maybe even more so, I'm glad to see that his decision to play at LSU is paying off so early for him. And THAT will pay big dividends with potential recruits that play like he does.

This class 100% has that look to me. Guys like Howard, Campbell, Jones and Perkins are a rock solid foundation to build the future on.

.

That’s the stuff of nightmares for tackles and TEs throughout the SEC West.

Yep.
Plus, Weeks has been solid and Penn has shown some flashes.
Pretty jazzed about the unit after only 3 games in.
CMH is starting to give some definition to roles.

The sky is the limit. He could carry 235-240 and not lose any explosiveness.

What he brings reminds me a little of The Honey Badger. He hasn't taken the ball away yet... yet.

Perkins really did look good. Seems our latest no. 40 is well on his way to being another stud linebacker.

It’s nice to have a LB that is physically intimidating. And Perkins can run, too!

This defense is very good, and they’ll be very good next season. We really need Walker Howard to step up next season.
