Have always seen Trent as a good hire. His job should be secure. He had a great first year. His last two outings can be traced to Brady's shortcomings in terms of recruiting people who could actually graduate. Tigers will do OK this year. Next year should be even better.

Normally I'd agree, but clearly you didn't watch last night

Last night against Marquette, Hamilton still showed the inability to dominate the paint against shorter players. When you're 7' tall and going against a player that's 6'8", that's an extreme mismatch and I expect him to completely school the shorter player guarding him.

First, you sound like a 6'0" guy who always says "If I was that height I'd be in the NBA".

Second, Hamilton scored 13 points in the last 5 minutes of the game and iced it at the free throw line.

Third, he's averageing 11.5ppg and 6.5 rebounds while shooting over 50% from the field and 78% from the line. What exactly did you expect? Can he do better, sure - but lets not pretend he is crapping the bed either.

It's one game. Most of the folks on here who discuss basketball regularly (not just the people who chime in only after LSU beats a top 10 team or they lose to a Sout Alabama) have said that this year will determine TJ's future at LSU. Hopefully they can build off of this win and the fans will start to show up a little more often. This team has a lot of good pieces, it's just a matter of if they can put it all together night in and night out. There's no reason they can't win the next 3 games (including UVA) and get 11 OOC wins. Then the true test comes in SEC play. The conference has some good teams at the top, but it certainly isn't as deep as say the Big East (who is 0-2 vs. LSU btw.) I think 7-9 wins in conf is reasonable

To be fair, Hamilton was getting doubled a lot everytime he touched the ball, especially in the first half.

Trent looked like he gave a shite last night. The fans looked like they gave a shite. The players played their asses off. Can't say much else. It was a great effort all the way around by LSU. There was a crowd in there that seemed like they knew they needed to get behind their team and the team answered the bell after getting hit in the mouth early. Can't say enough about Storm Warren and Ralston Turner.

I would like to see TJ to actually do something besides sit on the bench with his arms crossed looking like Reuben Randle. He shows no real fire, its OK to show some emotion for your team sometimes Trent..

He was pretty fired up last night!

yeah Trent was into shite last night. I commented that it was the first time he had been fiery all season

This! I haven't been to a game in years(use to attend all of them). I went last night b/c my BIL is a marquette grad. I figured we would lose by 20 and early on it didn't look good. That team played some tough defense and completely frustrated Marquette. I was watching their players at every TO and they knew they were in for a war after LSU got back into the game. My BIL was shocked that LSU beat them and it made for a very enjoyable walk back to the car.

My 7yr old nephew had on marquette shirt with lsu sweatshirt over it....I had him chanting LSU by the end of the game.

Ive always thought trent was a great hire but like all struggling programs it takes time to turn it around. He will get us to where we are a top 25 team every year if hes givin time.

He was given a renovated stadium, a practice facility that was under construction to be pretty awesome, and the program was 2 years removed from a final 4. In basketball you can recruit impact players right away. He should have it together this season or next at the absolute latest if he is going to do anything here.

6'4" in height and yes I can play the game and I know for a fact if you put someone that's 4 or 5 inches shorter on me I would kill them in the post. All I have to do is turn around and shoot over them. One of two things will happen, I'll get the shot off or get fouled.

I'm looking at his body of work throughout the season and against the competition we've played thus far yes, he should've been dominate

Again, from the competition we've played thus far, I expected him to have a much bigger impact than he's having. There's no reason for him not to have averaged at minimum a double, double every night.

You throw up stats et al and think that he's doing a great job, but once he matches up to players his size in SEC play, I can easily see him averaging way less that the numbers you've thrown out there.

From what I've seen out of him thus far, he just plays too damn soft for a 7' guy.

Not to mention he has allowed any sort of fence surrounding Louisiana to be as effective as the US Mexico border. And we are on the Mexico side.

I was encouraged by the number of players who contributed. With the current run, they look like a team who's starting to play together well and form an identity. Hope they continue to add to that chemistry and develop into a contender for the West.

84 You idiot, obviously you don't go to the games. TJ has been all over the floor the last few games. He pratically ran down the shute with a big jump at the end last night after the late traveling call against Hamilton. If you're going to try and make a negative point, pick your spots man.

There is nothing wrong with being a soft big in college. He's never going to be that double double guy. But he has a good touch, and handles the ball extremely well for a big. If he was a double double guy, he probably wouldn't be at LSU. He is what he is. Embrace it.

Against the competition we've play so far I thought he would've been averaging that at a minimum. We havn't played a very tough schedule and most of the guys he's been going up against were very undersized at the Center position.
