Go after the top 10 guys in America and offer the $ given to wade. No doubt 8 agents would call u back.

Wade is your coach deal with it. We’re talking about the hiring of an assistant basically in name only to bring in more funds from the old guard. And you try and turn it into a thread about hiring someone other than Wade.
You’re really trying to be a worse poster than tigersbb or pirate king at this point.

I’m going to trust Wade on this one but to advocate for jones the guy has coached for the last 20 years in Louisiana Dallas and Houston.

There's your answer. I'm sure JJ is more than qualified to an Assistant Coach and head crooter. I like it and don't see the problem.

I don’t know what he brings to the table at this point in his career.

He’s widely regarded as a strong recruiter, which I assume is the main reason he’s being hired.

Basically his biggest downfall was getting Ben Simmons here.

And to JJ’s credit - Ben Simmons was a lazy POS with a stunted game in the NBA as well. Maybe we gave JJ a bad rap when Ben Simmons was the real problem. I’ve hated Ben since that year and would never call him a tiger, but it might be time to forgive JJ

Memphis is doing the same thing with Tony Madlock. Madlock resigned as HC at Alabama St. to take a job on the Memphis staff. He's from Memphis, played at Memphis, and was an assistant coach at Memphis

The Madlock hire may look similar to someone who doesn’t live here and follow Memphis, but it’s actually not. He’s not being brought in for local or regional recruiting or political ties. Penny is all in on using the portal and NIL to construct his teams. He may only have 1 or 2 recruits per season. And Penny, for all of his flaws and this season’s big bust, is still loved by many.

I’m sure Madlock will have a role in scouting and recruiting the portal, but he was hired for another primary reason. Penny trusts him. They grew up together. They played at Memphis together. Madlock was on his first staff at Memphis. I’m not sure if Wade and Jones have any relationship, so that’s a big difference.

Penny was literally on the edge of a nervous breakdown at the end of this season and completely melted down in tears in a late season press conference. I thought he was done and would step down and retire after that. Memphis paid Madlock to come back to be that guy Penny can lean on. And he needs it. He lives and dies by his staff and this year’s was a huge bust. The portal class was too.

As for Madlock, if this move works for a year or two, it could help get him a bigger job. He’s done a really nice job as a head coach by SWAC standards, but it’s not all that common for head coaches to get hired out of that league.

For all of the griping I’ve done about the Jones hire because I just don’t think he’s much of a coach, I REALLY like the Stansbury hire by Wade. He did a really good job at a Memphis a couple of years ago. That was Penny’s best offensive team and it was largely due to his influence. He’s been around and knows his SEC basketball.

All are.

But to be clear, you think Will Wade is a tip 10 coach in America ?
You think any of the sweet 16 coaches would lose their job to fat frick?

What a delusional human you are

You can’t answer because you don’t know any of the coaches names you fricking retard. Secondly you have zero clue how long it took for any of those guys to get to their first sweet 16 because again you don’t know what you’re talking about. And yes coaches who’ve made the sweet 16 have lost their jobs, a coach who barely lost an NCAA title game just lost his job less than a week ago you ignorant moron.

Will Wade isn't amongst any of them...none.
Saying differently is simply a delusional statement.
Youre just making a stupid argument, just to argue. Will Wade would not be mentioned if any Top 10 school had an opening.

No it’s a fact, you’re delusional, you don’t know anything about the subject and you’re just rattling off rapid fire stupidity. You couldn’t answer a single one of those simple questions because you don’t follow college basketball and don’t know anything about the game in general.
