Sounds less than ideal.

When you don't have good run blocking and you only run zone running plays, don't expect good results even against the worst of D lines.

Our run game right now is worse than our pass game EVER was under Miles. I’m not saying he should have been retained, but this is just as bad just reversed.

LSU is playing really, really bad on offense and most of us didn’t expect that.

The scariest part of this is considering one of those games was against mcneese. And we were REALLY trying to run.

Look at what Georgia, Mizzou, Auburn, Florida, and Arkansas did this past week.

And remember, failed on 4th and short and scored a TD on 4th down

Desperate vs McNeese

It’s gonna be a long season waiting on Orgeron to finally realize he will need Nussmeier to stretch the field w his arm and his legs

Brennan was dead before he ever got injured. This line would never have given a pocket passer a chance, esp w no running game to even make them flinch. LOL

It's as bad as I can remember it, but I don't know if I'd go quite that far. In 2011, with one of the most talented teams imaginable (and when LSU should have been peaking offensively), Jordan Jefferson threw for a total of 30 yards in the SEC Championship and then followed that up with throwing for 53 yards against Bama in the NC. His average QB rating of 21 on average for those games. I don't think I've ever seen a team in LSU's position so awful in the passing game at the end of the season.

LSU still has time to improve their running game. TDP was banged up all camp and was basically put in there due to Emery not qualifying (and the O-line has had no continuity in practice due to injuries). I think the younger guys can help a lot too (as we saw flashes of against McNeese). The O-line needs a ton of improvement regardless though.

LSU is currently ranked 116 out of 130 CFB teams in rushing offense.

I may end up being wrong but with this offensive line, I don’t think it matters who plays RB.

By pretty much any metric you want to use, Alabama and Georgia were two of the top passing defenses in the country that year. There's also a strategic reason to shorten the game with the run and play defense against teams of that caliber.

By contrast, this year we can't establish the run against a Pac-12 team that hasn't had a pulse since 2015 and McNeese...

That UGA half was laughable (I don’t count the mulligan as legitimate) but we adjusted and dominated the second half.

It’s like teams are playing against our run game on rookie mode
