That may have been true pre-social media / internet. I am not so sure it is true now.
By that I mean, there is smoke EVERYWHERE...one of them ends up "true" on occasion. But, that does not remove all of the false smoke that gets spread.

He’ll be named LSU DC by the end of the week

Then LSU will be playing mostly a Cover 3 zone scheme. Reports say Coach O wants an Attacking 4-3 Defense, where the defense gets after the QB. It's looking like more and more Richard doesn't fit for that scheme.

Eh. Why recruit the top corners in the nation, if you want them to cover a patch of grass that good offenses can work around?

Your thread is misleading and not specific enough. It's not that he simply said he's not a candidate. This is really what went down:
When sports director Dana Balash of WFMJ (Youngstown NBC affiliate) texted the question to Bo, his answer was "No".
In other words, what anybody in Bo Pelini's situation would have done at that question given the timing of the process. I think he's gonna be the one now more than ever.

No, he didn't. All he said was "no". In context, "no" can be interpreted several different ways. Quit spreading fake news. Did you people not learn context in school?

I hope he is telling the truth. This is not 2007. Times have changed. His scheme might work at Youngstown State because he is coaching against newbies still trying to cut their teeth.

He wants assurances that his brother would fill the HC job at Youngstown State if he leaves. That maybe a show killer. Also, the LSU DC job would pay him 5X his current salary.

Isn't his daughter a Jr in HS there? He's made it pretty clear that he's a family first guy. He's not hurting for money. I doubt he pulls her before her last year of HS.
