I'd put my LSU education up against any GT grad. Don't believe everything you hear & read about college academics, unless the schools are Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Ivy League, etc.

Tech is a freakin' great engineering school. If you get out of there with an engineering degree, it says a lot about how hard you can work and/or how smart you are. I agree that it's possible to get an equivalent education at LSU, but some is the person more than the school.
I've worked with a ton of Tech guys here in Atlanta. I've got the same job at the same pay and I had a blast in college.
They had a blast too, but it was actually just a couple of explosions in the Chemistry Lab.

GT - #35 overall undergrad
LSU - #130 ... and our ranking of 130 is a major achievement this year. The LSU AA magazine had a big article about it.
Still...
GT - #1,433,422 in hot women
GT - #1 in nerd diversity

GT is so smart that they are the only school in the last 20 years to find a way to scratch out a Split NC by winning the Citrus Bowl, not a BCS level bowl game.
