All from Wilson Alexander's twitter feed:

Tre Morgan the current 1B starter

Beloso to LF

Safford current 3B starter

Best pitchers will face starting line up in P&G WS. Wants best on best.

Still looking to play ND, Air Force, and Army opening weekend. Waiting on SEC schedule.

Zach Arnold moved ahead of Collier Cranford. Cranford now competing at 3rd.

"I don't have any doubt we're going to play a full schedule"

DiGiacomo locked down CF. Crews in RF.

Jordan Thompson and Brody Drost also pushing for playing time, in addition to the 3 freshmen already mentioned.

Jaden Hill has looked great, but hasn't been as consistent as they would like.

Marceaux developed a slider in the offseason, "unhittable".

I'm replying to my own post to separate my own thoughts from what Mainieri has said.

He's on the SEC committee to plan for the spring re: coronavirus. So what he's saying about playing carries more weight than it otherwise might. I look at it as more of what's being discussed rather than simply wishcasting.

Kendall Rogers will be at practice tomorrow and will give a write up for D1Baseball after that.

He also said Tre Morgan might hit 3rd come spring.

That’s impressive if it holds

That seems to be all of the news that came out of it. No updates for the past 20 minutes or so.

Sometimes you can rewatch the zoom sessions later, I will be looking for that.

L/L first baseman from Brother Martin. 6'1" 190. Was pretty highly touted going into his senior year, was on the draft radar. Had an injury his senior year that sidelined him.

Mainieri lauded his first base defense today, but it's his bat that would get him in the lineup.

Morgan was best hitter in state jr year
Got hurt and was going to miss sr year but still highly regarded
Must be better than beloso defensively

If beau Jordan can handle lf I think beloso will be fine

Impressive what Safford has done if he’s capable to start at 3rd

You still have several that can dh as well

I think if Drost pushes his way into the lineup, it would be in LF, sliding Beloso back to 1B, and Morgan to DH. Morgan is still recovering from TJ from what I understand. His throwing has been limited in scrimmages. Which, combined with Beloso's body transformation, is why Beloso moved to the OF instead of Morgan.

Safford, athletically, reminds me of Dugas. But Safford is more of a hit machine with less high end power projection. Dugas has high OPS potential but less likely to hit for average.

I agree with this. If Morgan was healthy it would be him in LF.

I'm really impressed with morgan and Safford. These guys are two of lower ranked guys in the class but already making waves.

It will be interesting to see what Hampton and Travinski bring when they come in.

LSU is loaded

This would mean that we have 3 starting infielders with no college game experience and only 1 outfielder with college experience at his position. That's alot of turnover in 1 season. Damn I miss going to fall practice.

Here is the LSU sports dot net release about the P&G world series. Has the two teams rosters, rotations, game rules, etc.

No mention of live stream.

Hopefully we at least get box scores like most of the SEC schools were doing.

For the love all that is holy, can someone or someone’s on the Coach’s Committee please raise some hell over LSU not at least streaming the P&G World Series since they aren’t allowing us common folk into the stadium.

It’s ridiculous that schools with a quarter or less of the resources LSU has can seem to accomplish this.

But I also don’t understand why you can’t distribute tickets on a first come first served basis and still socially distance the crowd. If it’s okay to have fans for regular games, then why not this. Not to mention, even historically it’s not like the P&G WS has been some packed stadium affair.

Project, what is Crews like defensively? Is he just a solid fielder or does he have a + glove/arm already? Speed?

Just curious if LSU can afford to shade Gio more towards LF to help out Beloso if needed and Crews have the speed to help out with Rt. CF. We’ve seen LSU before w/out a speedy outfield and what that looks like.

Crews is fast enough to play CF, he's a good defender. He had two OF assists in summer league. One from CF to home and one from RF to home IIRC. He has a legit RF arm.

I think what you said about shading Gio to left is probably the plan, outside of any batter specific shifts they may employ.

ETA: Crews, early on in his prospect career, was looked at as a catcher as well, but did not want to play the position long term. There were some Team USA tournaments where Crews and Drew Romo rotated at Catcher for the national team. Crews is just an all around good baseball player.

You won't need Gio to shade to LF. The LC gap is his glove side, so he'll naturally have better range there.

I think you'll see Beloso make the routine plays. That's all you should really need out of him defensively. His effort has always been a huge asset.
