The players had everything to play for. Senior’s last home game, postseason life at stake, undefeated midweek season against an in state school that beat you in 2019, PM’s 1500th win at home and so on. They weren’t allowed to have practice yesterday so the players have to take some responsibility to be motivated and focused on their own.

Mainieri needs to go.

The game has simply passed him and since his dad died it seems the fire isnt there.

Lets all just move on.

I agree and I think this has been a problem for Paul in the last few years. He doesn’t have the fire he used to and that shows in his players effort.

Agree gonefishing. This one is on the players. No coaching decisions or moves cost us this game

Which caused them to be unfocused, which caused the loss. He says it plain as day

Pirate king was saying he was blaming bad weather for the loss. It clearly wasn’t that cut and dry.

It definitely was a lack of focus by the players. But it’s also Paul’s job to have them ready.

Next February can’t come soon enough. A new coach and commitment to being elite again. Paul has given up. He is just waiting for this season to end. Let’s be real. This team is an undisciplined unfocused group of individuals. Totally underperformed this season. Hopefully Woodward has seen enough of this embarrassment.

His running out new pitchers every inning cost us.

Why not let Hellmers get 5-6 innings deep? It’s not like Paul uses him in the weekends anyway.

Why pull Veitmieir after one dominant inning?

LSU has a terrible bullpen and Paul tried to pitch them all tonight.

If Mainieri isn’t gone after this year, Woodward can GTFO too.

Greater Baton Rouge was a clusterfrick this morning because of the weather/water.

Northwestern had to deal with the same conditions.

This loss is on the boys, as much as I hate to denounce amateur athletes.

The reason he hasn’t used Hellmers is because our starting pitchers have gone deep into most games. He has been used some on the weekend and he rather have him available for it if we need him.

The selection committee seems to always look for any reason they can to screw LSU Baseball. Whether that’s their seed, location or keeping them out of the field all together.

Losing this game is just some added ammo 4 when they bend LSU & PM over & rail em! Just watch!!
