re: Paul Mainieri deserves a lot of credit, it’s been tough on him

Great! I thought only one village idiot was allowed to post a day. I guess Beefense needs some company.

Fair enough...for you.
I don't like it. He's not a rah-rah guy and thats one of the things I've never liked about him.

I had a very good view of our friend Pawl from where I was sitting. He looked like he was about to shite his pants from the 5th inning on.
I personally don't like that "look" on a coach in high pressure situations. It doesn't convey confidence or calmness.
#cuethe"youcanttellbybodylanguage"excusemakers
So since you can no longer criticize his in-game coaching, you are now going to criticize his body language?
Why are you watching the coach at the game, instead of the players on the field?
Weird.

So you want a damn cheerleader in the dugout?

Paul as well IMO to a similar degree
Nonsense. He has received plenty of deserved criticism for how the regular season went. A season's worth is ultimately defined by how it ends. Until we are eliminated nothing is out of reach.

criticism is one thing but going down a run in a regional game causing people to melt is irrational and makes those people look utterly ridiculous.

Not many baseball coaches are necessarily rah rah guys. It's not exactly a rah rah kind of sport. It's a sport which requires steady, measured focus and not getting too high or too low.

Go back and read this again. Do you see how dumb this makes you sound? Yea I sat and watched paul only for the whole game.
See, there is some down time during the games...you know...when they get 3 outs and one team goes in to bat and the other comes out to play the field. Or....and I'm just spit-balling here.....when one batter is out and another is coming up to bat...you know...little gaps like that...where you can actually watch other cool stuff.
Try going to a game in person every once in a while....it will be a whole new world for you!

Id prefer an Earl Weaver to a Kliff Kngsbury.

Yes, I'm the idiot in this thread. I'm the one crying in this thread after we just swept through the regional. I'm the one using made up arguments, that can't possibly be measured, to try to make my case because I've made myself look like a jackass with all the other arguments.
"Oh my god, Mainieri looks like he doesn't give a crap in the dug out."
"Oh my god, Mainieri looks like he is freaking out in the dug out."
This is the dumbest argument ever made on this board this entire baseball season, but you are sticking to it because you can't use logical arguments to back up your hate. The best part about it, is the argument changes from game to game. One game he doesn't care at all, and the next he cares too much. So, what does that tell any rationale person who is reading that crap? It shows that you are just NEVER going to be pleased with ANYTHING.
"Oh, but what if FSU beats the crap out of us this weekend."
What if LSU beats the crap out of FSU? Will you argument change to, "LSU was lucky to get to play FSU. They suck." Or will it change to, "Yeah, but watch what happens in Omaha."

We can agree to disagree on this. I like coaches with a little fire in their belly. Not afraid to argue a call or get in a players face...just as quickly as they would pat a player on the back or some other positive gesture...like with HH perhaps...who needs something to get him going.

I wouldn't be opposed to sitting Hughes. I do wonder if Beloso is 100% healthy and able to play 1st if we were to slide Reid back to 3rd. But yes, it would be nice to get a better bat in the lineup.
What else you got? What other moves has he made that have contributed to this unfortunate position we are in being 2 home wins away from Omaha?

Why? Because you say so? Have you EVER played the game at any level?
I think guys like Billy Martin, Earl Weaver, and Pete Rose might disagree with you....but they never did anything significant in their careers right?

Nothing else right now...but I'll get back to ya.
In the meantime, ride that CPM train at your pleasure....just dont expect all the sheep to follow your lead.

Nah man. Never played sports before. Ever.
Too bad I missed out on these coaches throughout my life in baseball that were yelling in my face. Seems productive for a sport all about focus.
