He got burned several times against ole piss leaving his assignment to break on a ball someone else had coverage on. He did this at least twice when he had back third coverage in a zone call and got severely burned. One was the TD pass by McCluster.

PP is freaking awesome. I love the guys' talent, but he needs to play within the scheme, because good opposing coaches are watching film on him and they will continue to turn his aggressiveness against him.

Agreed. He looked like he was playing his own defense last week and it cost us.

Maybe he has been watching some of our D-line play and wanted to join in.

The McCluster pass was not his fault. He had to come up and support the run and Hatcher was guarding the tight end who ran the corner route for the touchdown.

He's gotten a pass all season because he's been our best defender. He doesn't get a pass against Ole Miss because he didn't play well.

I don't live in La and did not hear the post game radio, FWIW. I live in Houston, but anyone with eyes could see that Peterson was being sucked in by the Ole miss coaches.

This may be true. It depends if it was man or zone coverage. I dont know.

or perhaps it was just the perfect play call for that moment? not like mccluster hadnt been a running threat to that point in the game.

*Petrino/Mallett licking chops

I'm assuming PP will be covering Greg Childs 6'3 220...Should be a good matchup

hatcher is a terrible pass coverage safety. he has to be moved next year just as coleman was moved. It becoming clearer that LOSTON will be a starter next year.

Oh yeah, we had really held Mccluster in check!!

Not his man who caught it, just cause it happened in his half of the field and he was trying to get back to help.

What the coaches saw was NO ONE ELSE COVERS EVER!

he did that a couple times against Ole Miss last year and poor McCray got a lotta flack for it because he was the first to show up to make the tackle.

He made mistakes, but that's because Chavis decided to fit a square peg into a round hole. PP is not a zone coverage corner. His athleticism and mentality are purely designed for man 2 man. He's a playmaker, and is going to be aggressive, especially when the rest of the defense is getting burned.

He screwed up trying to make plays. It happens. But if the others weren't getting burned he wouldn't have been trying too hard.
