I want to believe.

quote:

LSU (5). Potential line when they meet in Baton Rouge on Nov. 3: Alabama by 17. Why the Tigers have a chance: Major upsets often require home-field advantage (check), winning the turnover battle (LSU is tied for the national lead with just one turnover thus far), and stopping the run (LSU leads the SEC in fewest yards allowed per carry). Why they don’t have a chance: The gap between the two programs has been clear the past five years, and this doesn’t seem like the year it closes without extraordinary circumstances. Does anyone really foresee Joe Burrow and those receivers matching throws with Alabama?

What do you think? Tua looks incredible.

I think Aranda can slow them down, and our special teams can have us in good spots. Can the offense capitalize on those opportunities enough to win? That's the question.

At home, I think this is a close game. Not sure I'd pick us to win. But we should be in it until the end.

If Saturday was any indication, we know we can't get pressure with just our front 4. We will have to dial up some exotic blitzes to get Tua on the ground or force him into some interceptions. If we still have some things up our sleeve on D we should be able to slow him down. If we play base Defense he will carve us up.

If LSU is undefeated going into this game, Bama -17 is a little high, imo.

That said, I don't think anyone is beating Bama this year. Or even coming close.

Clemson: No way I just don't see it from the clips of the games I watched.

LSU: Based on how we have been playing we very well may have the lead at halftime but second half Bama would put their foot all the way up our arse.

But the previous Saturday we got good pressure on Stidham with mostly rushing 4.

we need to put up at least 20 points on them for the first time since 2010 for starters to even have a chance.

Tua hasn't thrown against a secondary like LSU's yet either.

That only resulted in 2 sacks. Tua can move in and out of the pocket wayyy better than stidham.

Lincoln Riley and OU can beat them

I bet last years team would have beaten them and they are better this year

Bama wouldn’t slow down Kyler Murray

Sacks are nice, but they aren't the end all, be all. Getting the QB uncomfortable and moving in the pocket leads to bad performance. You don't have to sack the QB to have a major effect on the play.

I agree. We are going to have to move the pocket, but maintain our rush lanes extremely well to contain him. I just have a feeling that DA has some blitzes up his sleeve that can get us some match ups where we outnumber the blockers on one side, like he always explains in film study.

They had 12 minutes of time of possession and he scored on every drive

Army had 44 minutes. He wasn’t the problem

Because LSU has proven to be an elite pass defense?? Tua is going to shred LSU. You might want to start looking @ the obvious.

army slowed them down in the best way possible, keeping it out of murray's hands.

it would be a shootout bt bama and OU.

Ohio ST and Georgia. That’s it. Everybody else is lumped in. LSU has as much chance of beating Bama as Auburn and A&M.

this might be the most overused thought on here.

LSU's secondary is not elite at this point in time. Bama brings a barrage of smith/jeudy/ruggs against a still green fulton. they would likely limit the throws to greedy's side.

I agree we have a pretty special secondary, but we did allow J'Mar Smith to throw for 330 3TD / 1 on Saturday. We can't play soft when we play tua.
