Burrow is the best QB we've had since Mett.

This is the worst offensive line I've seen at LSU period.

Why don't you go check out how clean Mettenbergers pockets we're compared to Burrow?

How many blind side sacks he's taken compared to Etling. Only a moron wouldn't see that.

In 2017, our offensive line was 113th in the country, with a sack rate of 9.03%

In 2018, our offensive line is 92nd in the country with a sack rate of 7.72%

Aside from slants Ensminger's offense doesn't seem to really focus on getting rid of the ball quickly. Everything seems to be 15 yards downfield.
I posted the other day 2018 is on pace to complete about 40% of 2017 +25yd passes (14 vs 32). +15yds looks to end up less also unless there's a change (35 vs 57), so cfbstats.com's sit stats don't support your premise.
Not sure if limited by accuracy or just the scheme (maybe limited due to accuracy in practice).

In fact, 2014 and 2015's AJ/BH meh passing years have about the same att as 2018 so far yet are well ahead in +15yd/+25yd completions (about 50/25 each vs 35/14 in '18).

Pass attempts are missing in the OP.

If you look at stats, Jalen Hurts and Danny Etling were strikingly similar in 2017

Hurts: 60.4% on 255 attempts
Etling: 60% on 275 attempts

My point is, you don't have to have 6000 yards passing to win a natty. You need an offensive line.

Other stats:
Baker Mayfield

Patrick Mahomes

Jalen Hurts

Danny Etling

With less than 40% of his offense installed and a weaker QB in a run first offense.

yep. run first use whole field (horizontal and vertical stecthes) like GUS and CUM concepts although not a power spread like them. yep what he did with etling was unreal given etlings limitations of pocket presence and run ability and downfield accuracy/progression issues at times. Canada schemed around that and gave him lots of safe high % throws.

Ensminger is not the answer here if we want to beat Bama moving forward.

that much is blatantly obvious and we knew it before the season began

agreed with that

you are far too young to amke a credible claim on this. you are only 25 years old. to say it is the worst you have seen is may be true but purely subjective and not using enough evidence over time. Other years have been worse. you were not alive yet but some under hallman were bad. very bad. dinardo had good to very good lines as he was a o lineman but issues in other areas LIKE SCHEMING once he lost watts and promoted his WR coach as OC in 1999!

How about we go hire a bright OC and let him decide who stays and goes because what we are doing is not working.

WELP. kills that narrative

and this is the reason as i have stated many times why people said our line was worse last year and our receivers were worse last year with a limited QB and shows how well canada did with those limitations.

we were supposed to be better this year at all those spots.

How did Mett succeed in our terrible offense? Sigh.

And it's going downhill.

The offense has regressed ever since firing that coach for his offenses.

Then the only alternative would be a return TE Coach. He's obviously "IOHH" at this level. Even with this god awful Sun Belt-SWAC level OL, he should be able to scheme/play call the Offense to more than 0 points against the Red Devils. (Arkansas put 31 up on them)

In Over His Head At This Level.........

Nothing wrong with running the same play over and over: Peyton Manning ran one pass play 10-15 times a game.

Given the long-standing issues and LSU's history, there seems to be an institutional mindset of 'run the ball and play defense; win 9-10 so the stadium is full and hope for a lucky season.'

If LSU even had the USC offense Orgeron said he'd deliver, fans would be in the stadium for a full game to watch the fireworks.

with exception of canada and the shite he had to deal with. a worse O line with a worse sack rate as has been posted in other thread. what he did with a limited, line, receivers and Qb was good. he schemed around weaknesses. E cannot do that
