Agreed. Also, you could see where the ref explained to Kiffin that it was not the crown, it was right above the face mask that made contact. They tweaked the crown to be smaller in the offseason.

It was actually a couple of seasons ago but yes, that’s a good point as well. The crown is not “anything above the facemask.” It’s defined specifically defined as “a 6-inch radius from the apex (top) of the helmet.”

Thanks for clarifying! But yeah, it didn’t satisfy any targeting criteria

I never said he launched

and the contact was made with his right temple… that’s not the crown in case you were wondering.

Since targeting has been a thing, that's always been considered part of the crown.

I felt like there wasn’t enough to overturn but I do believe that he did not maintain control of it. I’ve seen us hosed before when the shoe was on the other foot so I was a little surprised at the overturn.

The crown is the top of the helmet, not the side. You seem pissed LSU won. Are you a closeted Old Mrs fan? LSU won! No need to be a crying douche about it. You can pick apart anything I said but it was reversed because IT WAS THE CORRECT CALL.

So weeks just needs to stand there and get his legs taken out or move out of the way completely.

What did you want him to do?

Dart slid late he slid wrong ,his legs were going to the right sideline not long was with the field. Darts legs didn't get vertical/ the field until the contact spun him.

Im all for protecting lbs but some oh of them play w/ fire Dart is one Patrick Mahomes is another.

It was a bad call according to the rules. "Indisputable video evidence" But it was the the truthful call.

I think this is the correct assessment. Probably not indisputable but anyone being honest knows it wasn’t a catch.

Similar for Week’s targeting call, by rule he should have been tossed but the ref’s overturned it because everyone knew that hit was a nothing burger.

Props to the refs. They really called a great game, not by rule but they called an honest and fair game and I’ll take that any day.

The NCAA and NFL need rule changes.

1. NCAA needs to do away with the targeting rule.
2. NFL needs to do away with the unlimited yardage PI calls especially in the last 2 minutes of the half and game.

The refs have too much control on the outcome. Not sure what you do about holding calls. BAMA got their holding call on SC yesterday that probably cost SC the game.

He could have made the tackle without lowering his helmet and his facemask would have made contact with Dart's helmet. Remember "see what you hit"?
I think the thing that saved Weeks is that he was standing still.

Yes, he lowered his head, but that was in response to Dart coming at him and then dropping down. If Weeks had been moving towards him it probably would have been different.

You can't expect a defensive player to stand straight up when someone comes right at him, so since Dart initiated contact it's probably viewed looser

As the ball hit the ground, the top part of it moved in a manner that wouldn't have happened if he had grip or control on the ball.

I don't think he caught it, but I never saw anything that showed he definitely didn't. The signs were there, but again, I don't know completely thst he didn't catch it. I think it was a bad overturn.

It was a good call. He didn’t have control over it. Don’t listen to the guys on the SB last night. When every single person watching that game knows it was obviously not a catch, it’s indisputable.

A lot of people here don’t know what indisputable evidence means… they think it means only if Jesus comes down and says “peace be with you, btw that wasn’t a catch”
