We upgrade at RB, QB, probably OL, and definitely DL.

How can you say we upgraded at qb when statistically max Johnson was better than Daniels the last 2 years

No downvote from me, all the points listed are valid talking points. But that said, the combination of his very professional approach to things, and the amazing job of filling the roster with quality transfers and recruits in such a short amount of time, makes me feel like we are going to have a very good year. And continue having them.
I don't know how the wins/losses will shake out, but I will be surprised with anything less than 9 wins (including bowl win). I just don't see 7-5 or worse.

It’s all speculation because of the combination of talent and turnover with the roster. Nobody really knows anything right now outside of Dline and WR.

I just want to know how many analysts we have and is John Robinson one of them

You can’t really compare them. Daniels had absolutely zero taken around him at ASU except for his freshman year. And his coaching staff was horrendous. We know what Max is… a below average SEC QB. Daniels has way more upside than Max.

I think that’s why Kelly is so focused on the Oline. He wants to run the ball a lot more to stabilize the unknowns in the passing game compared to the last couple of years when the running game was more of a change up feature in the offense.

Your not wrong about coaching cohesion. But I’ve said many times people underestimate the amount of disfunction that had taken place the last 2 years. This new coaching staff is an immediate upgrade game 1. Lets not forgot that the entire season the offense was confused as hell checking the sideline and even calling timeouts coming out of timeouts.

I think you hit the nail on the head. There are several potential problem areas.
It seems like usually during our down years there’s a weakness that seems fairly obvious in hindsight. We just tend to overlook them during the preseason hype.
Any of the groups you mentioned could turn out to be that weakness this year. Hopefully none of them do but that’s kind of the point.. we just don’t know until we see the finished product.

That’s hard to say for sure. Maybe his WRs were that bad but ASU was 8-5 both full seasons he started with the defense and running game improving while the passing game was the only area that regressed. Was it just the WRs that made all the difference because it wasn’t the Oline or lack of balance in the offense?

I do expect a large jump from game 1 to game 2.
Ya think?? Let's see FSU, then Southern...we will learn more from LSU practices than vs Southern.

Yeah I’m with solo cam but several teams, including lsu, needed a few more plays to beat bama last year. Fact is, who knows what might happen. Just looking forward to some game day gumbo.

Agreed. The floor is so much higher with Kelly. This team won 6 games last year with Orgeron and Peetz. Kelly is a top 5 coach. 7 wins is the floor. 9 wins will not surprise me

How about after Texas bowl just 39 scholarship players on roster

My biggest concern at this point is center. Moving a guy over that has never played the position before is not good.

Players still dropping off right now too.

We have a couple good options at TE
We don’t have a real TE - not the kind Kelly’s system depends on. They can run routes and catch, but they cannot block the way he needs them too. This is a fact as per Brian Kelly.

I'm going to get downvoted into oblivion by the guys that think we're going to win 10 games and that JD is the next RG3
I downvoted you for saying this while also thinking Myles was a 4K passer, and also bitching about downvotes prematurely.
But I’m clearly in the minority, so bully for you.

Valid points, reasonable concerns and questions I have asked myself.
With that said, how dare you mention any of that here. Logical concerns and informative discussion will not be tolerated!
