Of course they did. They couldn't have botched that any worse. Fisher wouldn't even take their call after his name was leaked last year.

I really believe Kiffin has made a change for the better and matured.

Based on what?

While I know Buddy Stephens at East Mississippi is a joke, I'm ready for a head coach with his attitude.

"We beat the shite out of people and make them sorry they stepped on the field with us."

"We don't take our foot off the gas."

"A lot of people don't like us. Well ... we're easy not to like."

Nothing scary at all about it at all give me the OC at Texas in Gilbert just give me a change in philosophy. I'm sure with a little research I could find 500 people that I would be willing to turn it over to and have more hope than I would with les miles.

Herman or Fisher.

The only two options. It's Fisher, then Herman, after you make Jimbo say no 5 times.

Y'all can also forget about Briles. He may run an attractive offense, but there's no way in hell HR's hired to be LSU's coach. It's actually pretty laughable that so many of you actually put his name out there, but then again, this is the Rant.

Also, people throwing out these flashy OC's... Get ready to lose Aranda. A lot of them have buddies they've coached with for a while that they'll bring along for both sides of the ball. Our best bet seriously might be to just promote Aranda to HC, keep most of the staff, and either hire an up and coming OC, or promote the one we have on staff(Craig).

At this point, I'd be happy with Dan Mullen.

A guy who has never been a head coach, has one game of experience as an offensive coordinator at a Power 5 conference, has never had to recruit at a big-time program, has never had to hire a staff, or done any of the things that a head coach at a major program has to do?

Listen, I said I like the guy. But there's not a shot in hell LSU would hire him for the 2017 season.

I can't wait to hear the next 499 names, because I gotta tell you, I'm pretty impressed with the first one.

The last thing they'll do is hire a guy with 1 year of experience as a coordinator, that's just retarded.

Aside from the fact that he will likely be Alabama's number one pick once Saban calls it quits...why would he leave Clemson for LSU at this point?

He has built Clemson into a national powerhouse and he is routinely in contention for the ACC Conference Championship. Florida State is the only program that is currently on par with them in terms of resources, talent, and coaching in the ACC. Why leave for a conference loaded with phenomenal coaches and programs?

He brings in top-flight talent and is in relative proximity to two talent rich recruiting regions (Atlanta metro and northern Florida).

As much as it pains me to say, at THIS point in time LSU would be essentially a lateral move for Swinney.

I'd hire Chad Morris

Chad Morris would be a great hire, as long as we have a good DC, which shouldn't be a problem.

so you wouldn't be more hopeful with Gilbert? The idea that it's a move down just because we don't get Herman, kiffin, or jimbo is what I'm saying. All I want is hope with Les I have absolutely zero. Would our coaching list consist of 500 people? Not at all but I would take a Scott Frost no doubt or many other people was my point

Herman-Texas alum (if UT and A&M both have sub par years and fire their respective coaches he's pretty much immeidiately off the list. No way we can compete with alma mater and bigger checkbook.

Fisher-really going out on the limb think our admin (Alleva and F King screwed this up) I would have really liked to see that hire and Bo Pelini as DC personally.

Mora Jr

Petrino- told UL after getting this gig that he would need leave the program.. have to see if thats true

Kiffin

Patterson

Fedora

I personally would not want any current or former NFL coaches on the list because they most likely will bounce in a short time period if they have success to get back to the NFL.

Dave Aranda would also be an option. There are a thousand choices I would have more hope in and I'm a person that's always supported les miles and still like him but the time is now. Heck I think we should of done him like USC did lane kiffin
