Let’s make it clear. There is NOTHING wrong with pulling for LSU and LA tech. You can like the G5 team in Louisiana. Both sides have people who shite on each other it’s so stupid.
You’ve got LSU fans who put the little team down.
You’ve got La Tech fans who show their diploma and ask where’s your LSU diploma. God forbid you people make this a North Vs South LA thing because LSU most definitely represents the whole state top to bottom.

Well my degree is from LSU and I say frick all of those other schools. They mean nothing to me.
ETA: This post isn't me saying you need to go to LSU to be a fan. This is me saying I don't give a shite about how well Southeastern, Southern, ULL, ULM, or Louisiana Tech, etc... do in academics or football.
ETA2: Forgot to add Tulane, frick them especially.

My dad graduated from NLU/ULM. Due to various reasons that's just where he went to school. He couldn't tell you one thing about ULM football, but can talk LSU going back to 1960 in depth. Frick anybody that says you need to graduate to be a fan.

Was waiting on my professional license to get it and my graduate degree from LSU all framed at once.

Well, I didn’t have the opportunity to go to LSU, got my degree from Tech. Earn enough money to send to kids to LSU.

Worked with a guy in North LA for several years. This guy was the epitome of the ultimate LSU fan. He found out I was a LSU fan and glommed on to me as his football discussion sounding board. Every time I saw him he immediately launched into a diatribe on the current state of the program. He somehow had an inside line on recruiting and the roster and would constantly be telling me things even before this board would know about them. His cubicle in his office had signed helmets, footballs, posters, etc.
He came by my office one day, saw my diploma on the wall and said "Holy crap! You WENT to LSU???" Turns out the guy had a degree from Tech. Didn't change my opinion of him but I had always assumed that anyone THAT immersed in a team had to have been an alumni.

Amen brother. I can guarantee that the biggest fans are the ones who either didn’t complete their degree at LSU or were never lucky enough to go to LSU. Walk around the touchdown villages and ask the guys with the immaculate set ups if they have a degree from LSU.

I be that guy is one of millions. Not everyone has the money, academics or even wants to live in Baton Rouge to go to LSU.
You can support your Alma matter and your favorite SEC team. It’s no mystery why TAF has cash trucks and the academics at LSU don’t have the same resources. Most people who pour their money into LSU athletics didn’t go there so they don’t feel obligated to donate to academics.

We allow other degrees as well. Just nothing lower on the totem pole. Sounds like you would not be part of a truly intellectual, fun tailgate.
