Upvote for the Tigers, but does this mean we all get to print $6 million in fake $100 bills and hide them in ice chests now?

I mean… he literally did his time, got out and died before he got pardoned but go ahead

Yes, provided you then dedicate decades of your life to doing pro bono work at Angola.

I think given the entirety of the case it was a good move and surely makes the family feel better about the situation. I think Christ would have looked at this in the same way. Billy Cannon is an institution and his entire story is worthy of note. There are excellent lessons to be learned from the story.

Now what really needs to happen is those politicians in MN need to be arrested today. They and a few from CA , Ill, VA, MA, GA, AZ and NY for good measure.

At some point excluding murder or other horrible crime, I think its fine to give someone a pardon. Especially if they have done their time and stayed on the straight and narrow. Don't understand all the downvotes. Cnn must have invaded this board.

How does he deserved to be pardoned bc he felt bad about it??

Dumbasses. Dumbasses everywhere

He wasnt given a pardon in the presidential sense, because it did nothing to lessen his punishment. Hes dead

He was given a pardon in the forgiveness sense. The feds accepted his plea, his years of service, and offered him and his family forgiveness. And you shits dont have the decency to allow them to accept it

Buying votes with the power of the pardon is toxic for democracy. Especially when you only reward white collar crimes perpetrated by the rich and the famous.

The people keep losing.

So your proud off this?

Cannon didn’t make a mistake. He got caught for COUNTERFEITING!!!!!

Now I see how far the US has collapsed morally when people think this is just a lovely idea.

He went to prison for it and spent the remainder of his life in service to others. According to you, there is no standard of forgiveness and once you commit the crime you shouldn’t be integrated back into society.

Zero percent chance you apply this standard equally. You’re just mad Trump did it.

This clears the way for Curley Hallman to be pardoned for his crimes.

Also, kudos to Nate Newton. The man was speeding down the interstate with almost 200 pounds of pot in the back of his pickup. Being Stoner Santa Claus should get you celebrated, not incarcerated.
