Our fans seem to have forgotten how to handle success.

Let's take a look at the season, and the mood shifts on the board throughout.

- Season starts and fans are excited about the new look offense. There is minor complaints about worries about the defense, but nothing too out of control. Excitement filled the board leading up to Bama.

- We beat Bama, and get that monkey off our back. Of course, there is excitement, but in just hours after the game a large portion of our fans start to not know what to do with themselves.

All you start hearing from Saturday after the Bama game, until this Saturday is crying about the possibility of Bama getting into the playoffs. Every day there were multiple threads about Bama and the playoffs. Why was this? Those fans were scared shitless of Bama. How do I know this? Because the second Tua got hurt, those threads no longer exist. Those same people are no longer scared of Bama anymore.

Those people need something to freak out about though. So, we have moved on to a 21 point win over Ole Miss. Now it is, "we might not be able to win these next three games," "we might not win these next three games by enough," "we might fall to number two or three in the polls."

This is a great season. LSU is clearly heading in the right direction. We will likely have a Heisman winning QB. Orgeron is doing everything he said he would do. Recruiting is on an absolute tear, with no end in sight.

Learn how to handle the success, because it is probably here to stay. It won't always be pretty. We will not win every single game, every single year, but a solid run is coming. Get used to it.

2011 broke our confident fan base. It’s hard to go from looking like arguably the most dominant CFB team of all time to that point to a miserable loss in the big game

I reject your premise that we ever knew how to handle success in the first place

This is a message board designed to attract the hottest takes and emotional observations, you can find any opinion you want if you look hard enough. Maybe take a break if that bothers you.

Bothered? You think I'm bothered by beating Bama, for the first time in 8 years? Bothered by an undefeated season? Bothered by being ranked #1?

Maybe you are bothered by others not being bothered by those things.

half this board's posts are about how other fans feel or act. you are correct, too many feelings for my nerves

wish this board would talk actual FB, but guess I have to pay to join somewhere for that stuff.

It's a discussion forum. Would you prefer 800+ threads a day SOLELY talking about how great LSU is? I know this sounds hard to believe, but some people are actually able to BOTH be incredibly excited as to how the season has gone thus far AND discuss potential pitfalls as the season continues.

The Ole Miss game was not the first time this defense looked really bad in the second half of a game LSU appeared in control of at halftime. The games are only going to get more important as the season continues and the opponents (after Arkansas) are going to be solid to really, really good teams. Does anyone think LSU can't beat those caliber opponents? Of course not. But it is reasonable to have concern that in the event the offense has a tough night, or even just a fluke play or two go against them vs. a good team the defense may not be able to hold up.

In 2011 we had these SAME posts after the Bama game concerning the offense. And we had the same people such as the OP chastising those who expressed concern about the offense (1) struggling to move the ball vs. Bama (2) struggling in the first half vs. WKU; (3) really struggling in the first half vs. Ark and (4) being unable to get a single first down vs. UGA. Then it all came crashing down in the NC game. The problems were there all along, but most simply just ignored them and where "shocked" when LSU looked completely helpless vs. Bama.

That's not to say this team won't fix it's defensive issues. In fact, I think will get better simply because I've seen Aranda have too much success to not, at least, improve. But the OM game wasn't just an anomaly. This defense has had struggles all season

So it's perfectly fine, as long as the feelings being posted about are in line with yours?

There is plenty of it. Stop going into threads that you know will make you lose your damn mind.

Are you saying I was on the board complaining about the offense in 2011?
