Right and to voice concern doesn't mean anyone is panicking. If we play like this on D in either of the playoff games or even the SECCG...hell for that matter TAM.....we could get butt fked and boat raced and all that other good shite.

Most of the people that freak out and over react are the ones who get validation from the success of the team. They are no different from the fat, inbred, toothless trailer park dwellers that get validation from Bama's success.

All true. Everyone should be thrilled with the position we're in right now.

However, I look at this year as the best chance to win an NC of the past 8 years, and probably the next few years as well. When you have the chance now, you pounce or miss out.

I hope the defense improves enough to make that happen...i know it's not a talent issue

I think every rationale fan (even though there aren't many here) have seen enough of the defense to know that they are not as good as defenses we have had in the past. I don't think there is any denying that.

However, we have seen this defense rise to the occasion in many big instances. Texas was shut down for a half. Florida was shut down for a half. Bama was shut down for a half. Auburn was held in check. They have shown up in the biggest moments, which tells me that our defense isn't AS BAD as some people on this board think.

Why are we only able to do it for a half is a better question? I'm not sure if we are getting a lead, and then letting off the gas maybe, or changing something up to try to force long drives. I'm not a defensive guru, so I really don't have the answer.

I think Ole Miss was more of a let down game for the defense than anything. It was just uninspired football. We have the luxury of having a cat on offense, named Joe Burrow, who doesn't have that let down game in him. Maybe the defense is lacking that type of leader (ala Devin White).

I don't know what the answer is, and I'm not here saying that our defense is amazing either. I'm just pointing to the trends I see on this board.

You wrote a long OP making sweeping generalizations about an entire fan base over what amounts to a vocal minority that this place was founded on appealing to. The vast majority of people I know, myself included, couldn’t be happier with this season and are kicked back enjoying it. This thread itself is YOU not being able to handle success. LSU could go undefeated and un-scored on and there would still be three or four people bitching on the rant because Mike wasn’t brought into the stadium. It has and always will be that way.

that said, anyone with football knowledge knows this defense has issues … pointing that out doesn't mean that person doesn't like LSU or is negative.
