Hurry-up, Schmurry-up. Tell me this, did the following teams have trouble with hurry-up offenses:
Clemson
Bama
Ohio St.
ND
Stanford
OU
Wisconsin
Florida St.
BOSTON COLLEGE
Mizzou
Northwestern
Florida
Georgia
Michigan

etc.,etc.,etc.

chavis left LSU with terrible depth.

In 11 consecutive seasons of college football, you wouldn't you be okay with saying at least 4 of those seasons we had limited depth on defense?? That'd be safe to say right? Steele had elite talent on D and gave Miles his worst defensive performance in 11 seasons. You're and idiot! Bye!

Lack of depth and youth IMO. They generally played well in first half of games.

I respect your opinion, but its wrong.

struggled early against e mich, w ky , syracuse, s carolina.

down 21-0 to arky

down 24-0 to ole miss

this defense was, as the OP said, the worst defense under Miles.

This is so dumb its not even worth responding to. I'm sorry you aren't smart enough to figure it out.

LSU was much better in the first half than second half in the majority of their games. He was spot on.....you just don't like any logical explanations. Doesn't fit with negatigers agenda.

right, LSU playing down to lesser competition and playing no fewer than 5 back up QBs is part of my "agenda".

I am sorry you cannot handle that LSU's defense was not very good. maybe you should go watch a youtube video of puppies or something.

Not at all. I'm simply a loyal tiger fan that gets tired of the small-minded trolls on here that have about the same emotional stability and intelligence as my 13 year old.

BTW....I was OK with replacing miles and think it's time for a change. I'm just stable enough to appreciate what he has done at LSU.

thats funny you act as if all the problems of the defense are blamed on youth and lack of depth.

because that is YOUR narrative.

but you choose to ignore the numbers.

LSU had more sacks than last season, and the yards per carry allowed went down , and the rushing yards per game , went down. so the DL was actually a strength of this team (thanks Orgeron!)

I still believe we need to hold judgement on Steele til after next year. He will have quality depth at d-line...

Huh? You must be counting on true freshmen as "depth?" There are only four, maybe only three DL returning and they are not all "quality."

True freshmen and 3-4 returning upperclassmen does not equate to "quality depth at D-line" in my opinion...at least not to Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss, even Miss State standards.

He will undoubtedly fail to make the defense any better. Giving him another year will only extend our November collapse streak to four.

I would say that the guys returning with another year of coach O coaching them plus the true freshman come in and can just have specific roles and do that well can be quality depth. Those true freshman don't have to be like Godchaux and have to play every down. It will be way better than it was this year.

I'd also guess a good metric could be points per play...relative to how many points are given up based on amount of plays D is on the field. This won't of course take into account O 3 and outs and poor ST or O provided field position.

And after Steel was hired all you heard was how Chavis sucks and Steele was going to have the Tiger great on D, again.

In terms of yards per play, LSU was the worst it has been going back to at least 2008. I didn't have data going back any further. Kevin Steele, ladies and gentlemen! He's somehow worse that Douglas Mallory and the Notorious BDP!

10th, and this is why you're an idiot. We played one less game than everyone in the country. 2 less games than a few of the teams around us in that ranking.

Hey Einstein....there is such a thing as points per game....yards per game. I love it when a 20 year old kid that hasn't made more than 20k in his lifetime and is still uneducated .....calls ANYONE else an idiot...especially someone that's built a very successful company. But again....the play station kids know it all.
