OU Fans are Lining-Up the Excuses

I work with two OU alumni and they dropped these gems today:
-if they lose big: we have three players suspended and our second leading tackler is out.
-if they lose a close game: we definitely would win if the aforementioned players were playing.
-if they win: we didn’t even need those players to beat y’all.
that’s pretty damn insufferable. i just keep asking them why their bowl record is 2-5?
or 6-9 since we last beat that arse.

I think a reasonable take would be we were already a long shot and the loss of key players makes a win even less probable. I’d just leave it there and bag the woulda shoulda coulda Commentary

That is my take.
I imagine it was also the opinion of OP’s co-workers, but that doesn’t make content for a thread where he’d get a bunch of likes.

They don't need an excuse. They are big underdogs. It's expected for them to lose. The arrogant part about it is that they think they would need to use an excuse.

There is a huge OU guy on the radio in Dallas and the past 3 playoff appearances he’s said the same thing before each game. “We are young and playing with house money so anything is a bonus. Next year is our year”. Lol

Why?
Why not talk to him about something else? If it's insufferable just don't talk about it. Anytime I travel anywhere and run into a Bama fan that want to talk about college football I immediately change the subject to something else. Theres no chance that conversation is going to go anyway I would enjoy.

It would be nice if LSU to allow them more time to come up with better excuses for next year. In honor of this, let's send them home thinking on December 28th. :)

Sat next to an Oklahoma fan at a Christmas dinner last week. When I learned he was an OK fan I mentioned the game, and he said, “Yeah, that’s why I didn’t mention it earlier.” Like most Oklahoma fans, he thinks they are going to get drilled.. He’s hopeful, though. Most of them have no confidence in Hurts.
