Gainesville Sun article
Apparently, the separated husband of Sully’s GF who killed his kids and then himself has a brother who killed his ex-wife’s BF and attempted to kill himself back in 2019. So, apparently bad decisions run in that family.

It's going to be Bianco or Casey.

The way this board picks and chooses off of success is pretty funny. McDonnell missed postseason play this year, has been to Omaha 5 times but has never advanced to semi-final play, much less play for or win a title. Has a 55.8% postseason win percentage. Has failed to advance past Regional play 4 times.
Not saying I would be against McDonnell, but there’s multiple other guys that those numbers above would be held against.

Every situation is different. There should be some picking and choosing, naturally.

Mike Bianco equals Joe Alleva hire. Going nowhere fast
Andy Cannizaro would be an Alleva hire

Do yourself a favor and look at Louisville baseball prior to his arrival and after his arrival:
LINK
Then look at Florida and O'Sullivan:
LINK
O'Sullivan is marginally better than most of his recent predecessors. There is no one within the last 100 years that is CLOSE to McDonnel at Louisville. He built that program out of fricking nothing.

If the BOS is that involved in this hire, it will be a shite show.

O'Sullivan has the 5th best win pct out of the last 7 coaches at UF.
Umm, what am I doing wrong then? That link looks like he has the highest winning percentage aside from a coach that was there 1 year.

Oh I'm wrong, I read the total because of formatting on my phone.
Still, the point stands that he is not some program builder that is experiencing unprecedented win % at his school. He inherited a strong program (albeit crap facilities) in an extremely talent rich state and has done less with more than arguably even Paul.

Good news!
Though I think he would have been a slight upgrade over Paul, I think there are better choices out there.
LSU has such a strong baseball reputation that a better choice is out there.

shite, the ACC alone has like 1 national championship in the last 60 years.
So yea, you start talking about resources, player pool, fan support, weather, etc. And it's hard to compare what a coach in the ACC does in relation to say, one from the SEC or even Pac 12

Skip did say on Sunday that this would be Woodward’s decision. Scott supposedly gave him a list of candidates to call and that each candidate he spoke with was impressive and knew their baseball.

I really, really hope there is a highly qualified trannie baseball coach out there.
I can see it now. Deep Caitlin Jenner voice. “Just throw it underhand and catch with your hands”

If the board did, they are even more useless than I thought. I’m calling BS on this one.
